Why not brass? I'm just curious as I am not an expert at polishing by any means. I only know that brass is very abrasive
Copper is very easy to work with and I only have hand tools, so I use copper.

I have been debating that. It’s more work = more dollars, so I don’t know for sure. I might be able to get larger copper to fit the D without soldering, but I haven’t checked yet, so I guess I need to do that soon.
If I can make them one piece without soldering, then they will still be budget. I will look it all up and post something when I know.

Dremel might be best. If you have access to plumbing parts (hardware store) take your light with you and test fit things, that’s what I do. These were cut made from copper pipe.
