Recommend any EDC 18650 or 14500 lights using USB-C???

Looking for any EDC 18650 or 14500 lights using USB-C. Looking for one no larger than say a Nitecore mh12, to fit in pants pocket. 1600 lumens up. Possibly lower if I can’t get lucky. Why’s the transition to USB-C so difficult?

Wurkkos FC11 comes to mind. Might not be bright enough for you though.

I have the Wurkkos FC11 and really like it. Just be warned that while it has USB-C charging, it does not support the Power Delivery standard - it needs an A-to-C cable as the charging circuit doesn’t have the appropriate pulldown resistors for the PD spec. This is unfortunately very common in most of the USB-C charging flashlights that are out there right now.

Never saw this one and its less power than i’m looking for but put on the wishlist regardless as for the price, its not bad at all.

Would it charge faster than the standard micro usb being usb alpha to C??

hmm, is there a 14500 light with >1600 lumens?

>1600 lumens means 5+ amps which is asking a lot from a 14500. There are a couple that can do that, but not many (Shockli black can do 5 amps, Vapcell blue can handle 7 amps at the cost of capacity).

Battery aside, you’d need a good FET driver to deliver the power, doubtful from a factory light. Maybe the Astrolux X5. I can’t think of many 14500 lights with a FET driver from the factory. And certainly not one that also has USB-C.

Does the light need to have USB-C, cannot be magnetic charging?

If this is not a “must be”, check the Imalent DM21C, with magentic charging, and 2000 lumens on a 18650 battery!

Also, check the Brinyte PT28 Oathkeeper. Magentic charger, 1865o battery, 1600 lumens.

Yes I’d prefer USB-C to proprietary magnet charging. So I don’t have to lug a special charger around and can use the tons of USB-C cables I have when in a remote location or on set.

I picked up the DM21C, has major power issues. Flickrs, makes a whiney high pitched sound and keeps shutting down. Now won’t stay on. Got a full refund on it from Amazon and still have the unit. Just haven’t figured out what to do with it as yet.
