Test/review of Ravpower AA 2600mAh (Black-cyan) RP-BC015

Ravpower AA 2600mAh (Black-cyan) RP-BC015

Official specifications:

  • Voltage: 1.2V

  • Capacity: 2600mAh

  • Chemistry: NiMH

Maximum temperature raise at different discharge currents: 1A:+1,7°C, 2A:+4,7°C, 3A:+8,3°C, 5A:+16,6°C, 7A:+23,2°C, 10A:+30,2°C
I got these batteries together with a Ravpower NiMH charger

The batteries matches fairly well and the discharge curves looks good.

This curve got stopped a bit early because for Microsoft a update Windows is more important than the work done on the computer. Luckily I got the significant part of the curve, before MS crashed my computer.

Conclusion

This looks like good AA NiMH batteries.

Hello Henrik,

The link in the front page of your website for this battery is wrong right now, it points out to the first picture of the cells instead of the actual review link.

A Windows update is more important than the work done on the computer? :-D LoL!

There are ways to stop that awkward behaviour, I recently took care of reinstalling W10 on a computer and had to mess with Windows again. Here's a very nice article: How to stop automatic updates on Windows 10 @ Windows Central

Thanks, it is fixed now.
And also thanks for the link about Windows update.

By the way, since I was dealing with a Home version of W10 I also looked for information on how to enable the group policy editor in it, and it is pretty easy: Easily Install Group Policy Editor (GPEdit.msc) In Windows 10 Home Edition @ iTechtics

Thanks HKJ!

Thanks for that review. I also heartily agree with taking control of Win10 updates. That process started going badly about 1803, got very bad at 1903, and has not improved much since. They should just STOP, fix it, make sure they fixed it, make sure AGAIN……then, and only then maybe move on. I’ve loaded Win10 so many times I don’t have to much think about it.

So, back to batteries. Good review. Have you found any of these high capacity, non-LSD AA cells that have any kind of longevity? Anything I have tried like that is lucky to go 2 years and is pretty lame by 4 years.

Being honest, I don't really like all of this crazy software update thing of nowadays. They may argue bla bla bla in order to make you believe its absolutely necessary, but it really is not. In my opinion, properly designed and written software doesn't needs to get updated faster than a woman's sanitary napkin (far from :-D it), yet certain applications are inconveniently doing this, and on top of this some update fully at their free will. The worst part is when an update is a disguised downgrade because @#$%, and they keep that path subsequently.

Thanks. That worked for my Win10 Home PC. I’ve already been using [gpedit] on my Pro PC.
