Place you put flashlights that you never used to...

Now that your collection has grown, where do you keep flashlights for easy access?

The obvious places (nightstand drawer, kitchen drawer, inside garage door, and one in the TV cabinet) I've used for awhile, as well as a cabinet by my front door.

The other day I put a nail into the side of my outdoor jacuzzi, and hung a Solarforce L2 from it.

Now when my wife says "what was that noise" I can light it up to see if it is a skunk, coyote, rabbit, etc. Of course she thinks I'm nuts, but she like knowing what is skulking around in the bushes.

Mine are most all sitting right here on my computer desk. I like playing with them, recharging the batteries, and testing things right here where I'm reading and learning about them.

I sometimes feel a little silly but I really do like to hold one of my lights when I'm sitting watching TV. It's comforting to know that it's there. Is that stupid enough for you?

I bought a cheap little 3 foot by 1 foot storage looking box at lowes that has a front door and a shelf in it , I put lights in that all of them so not to lose or misplace ,I had 2 small ones at home and before I would catch my baby boy with them

so you have many bushes around your jacuzzi?

lucky man xD

When they start to look used I just throw them in recycling... nitecore, fenix, etc KIDDING! :)

I bought a s&w outdoor case with pluck foam for my nitecores and their batteries (it's by grab-fast bugout kit I guess), keep a few small lights in a little wood box, and keep one or more lights on the nightstand and kitchen (those tend to be less pristine).

On my desk, always in arms reach, are about ten flashlights ready with batteries. The rest of them are in drawers, plastic semi-transparent boxes (each one holds 6 P60 sized lights or about 12 - 20 smaller lights).

One in a drawer of the nightstand and one on top of the nightstand. Most are on my computer desk and one is in the utility room near the back door.
I have a single aaa in the arm rest of my car and a headlamp in the glove compartment. Other than a button cell light on my key chain that’s about it as far as different locations.
The difference now is just that I have more lights and use lights more often.

I probably should have clarified my thoughts more, what I meant was do you place them in spots that you can use them more, not store them.

One in every draw I can find, two on my body at all times, two in my son's car, four in my wife's and five in my car, two in each of my kids rooms, three in the master bedroom, two in the basement, one in my barn and in my office where I'm sitting right now (let me count...) nine. Wait, I didn't count headlamps or camping lanterns.

Should I start over?

b.t.w. Four out of five of my therapists say I'm obsessive, I like the fifth one.

I keep a couple in my vehicle, one on my nightstand, one in my jacket, one on my keychain (or i did until the keyring portion broke), and I left two of them out at the cottage. And the rest sit around in my bedroom and travel with me whenever need be.

OK, so, ~10 on my office desk, 1 in my jeans pocket, 1 in my waist bag, 1 (LRI freedom) on paracord (with breaking point) around my neck, 1 DX 22000 mcd button light on every keychain (home / car / motorcycle), 1 beside my bed. No flashlight in car or motorcycle because I always have flashlights with me.

The LRI around my neck is my most used - while home - light and because of this I can pass by without a flashlight in every room.

Lol, always better to have them cut back imo

I always have 2 to 4 on my person, 1 or 2 on the night stand, and 2 or 3 floating around the main floor usually on the kitchen table or on the coffee table in the living room.

My old lady's favorite thing to bust on is how when she needs a light she'll grab one of mine and they never have batteries in them ("All these flashlights and none of them work when I need them!"). I used to always keep them loaded but I have more lights than batteries and she'd always grab the ones without for some reason. LOL. Since then I only keep a select few locked and loaded and the rest of the batteries in cases the rest of my lights.

Not really places that I never used to put them, but here they are anyway:

1 next to my pillow, 1 on my keychain, 2 on some shelves, 2 in my emergency-kit bag, 1 clamped to a curtain above our daughters bed, 1 in my work-bag.

No car, No garage, No jacuzzi, No money ;)

what i am doing is almost similar with you, but i always carry one of my flashlight around home. i know there's no point to carry around a flashlight inside my own house. :)

all my flashlights are standing inline on my computer desk. almost everyday, i grab one of those while playing computer ,turn it on and shot the beam around my ceiling for couple of minutes. then put it back where it stands.

I hear you... I, too, am guilty of this kind of flashlight masturbation...

That's correct, in the strictest sense of the term.

The etymology is derived from the Latin noun Manus (hand) and the verb Tubare (to put into motion).

The meaning is therefore to put into motion with one's hand.

I guess we all feel in need of a little light refreshment on a regular basis.
