Song Mississippi river who knows this on Amerika ?

When I was a child, this song hit the charts in several countries in Europe. I came across it by chance by accident and currently run it in my car every day.
In the USA, it was not a hit at the time and is probably unknown.
I wonder who lives in America around the Mississippi or knows the river think of this song?

I've never heard it either, but I've never lived near the Mississippi River.

It was released in 1976, and I actually think the song is pretty good.

On that Youtube page it seems like a lot of people gave it a thumbs down, but I don't see anything wrong with the song.

It sounds pretty typical for a pop song from the 1970's.

I prefer rock music like Queen or Led Zeppelin, but it's not a bad pop song.

Interesting tune. First time hearing it. I'm no music expert & don't know what genre it fits into, sort of country-ish but with some pop & light rock thrown in. Nice steel slide accompaniment. Slides & dobros fascinate me.

For most of my life I didn't much appreciate what's commonly referred to a "country" music. Late last year that changed after watching an eight-episode documentary film by Ken Burns on Public TV that traced American country music from it's roots in the early 20th century to recent releases. The takeaway for me was a whole new appreciation of American country music.

Okeyyyy…. I buy the album wasp the last command on 1985 i was a teenager the mississippi gueen become one bonus number on remake 1997. :slight_smile:
