I’m looking for someone who will sell me a few sliced/de-domed led on copper MCPB’s of the above models, or other models I haven’t listed like the LH351d. If anyone is good at dome-slicing and polishing and wants to make a few and sell them to me, I’d appreciate it. Especially the 3v xhp50.2 and SST-40, warmer tints 5000k or below and higher CRI preferred but not entirely necessary. Please PM if you’re interested. but all you need really for slicing are the right height washers and a razor blade.

If you buy the LEDs on a mcpcb, slicing isn’t hard on the xhp since the bond wires are under the die. On the sst40 you need to be careful since the bond wires are exposed. I’ve sliced amd diced a xhp70.2 and dome right it’s neat. Never done a xhp50.2 since the 3v versions are expensive.
Thanks for the tips, Any ideas on what height the washers are for each LED? I’ve sliced a few before, but its always a crap shoot of getting it right for me since I don’t do it that often. I figured it’d be worth it to just buy some that are sliced more uniformly by someone who does it a lot as long as the price isn’t completely astronomical.
How long is shipping from KD right now given the pandemic? I’ve seen those sst-40’s sliced, but I’m not a huge fan of cold white. Would love a 4000k or 5000k ~ballpark slice instead of 6500k.
I wish Mtnelectronics still sold sliced LEDs, but I know it can be time consuming and maybe not profitable.
If you have any led centering rings around or insulating gaskets you can use those in place of washers. I don’t have the exact height, but maybe 1.5mm tall washers. For the sst40/Xhp50 you want an inner diameter of 5mm or 6mm amd the the xhp70 7mm pr 8mm.
