So I received a Noctigon KR1 with xpl-hi 5000K. Lovely light, but there are a few strange things:
1. The short flash is very brief, in fact so short in duration that it is invisible unless you are looking straight at the emitter. This occurs both when the light is first powered up and for the zero in a numeric readout (such as battery voltage, temperature or version number).
2. By default at the factory settings the top of the ramp is very close to turbo, almost indistinguishable from it.
3. The firmware version installed on the KR1 is reported as 2020-03-27, which is not a version in ToyKeeper’s files at Index of /torches/fsm.
4. In fact, there is nothing there named for the KR1. One file does refer to “emisar-d1v2” (but that file is dated 2020-03-22).
Anyone with similar experiences or insights? I might note I have several other Anduril lights for comparison, including Emisar D4Sv2, as well as Emisar D4 and BLF Q8, on which I flashed the anduril firmware from TK’s site.
Has anyone flashed an assembled KR1 or KR4? There doesn’t seem to be much space between the two springs to put the pogo pin adapter.
Edit: I have realised that the file “emisar-d1v2” (dated 2020-03-22) is for the late-model D1 fitted with the D4v2 driver and sold with Anduril installed.
Does this mean that the Noctigon KR1 is shipping with same build of Anduril as the KR4?
I understand the very late model Emisar D1 version offered by International-Outdoor with the ‘Anduril option’ had the same driver as the Emisar D4v2. Apparently it also included the D4v2 build of the firmware. Some time later a version optimised for the hardware was released by ToyKeeper as “emisar-d1v2” (dated 2020-03-22).
Can I assume that we will see a firmware version optimised for the KR1 released at some stage?
