The Golden Nut flashlight AKA WOLF SF-128 side switch

I've just come across this strange looking thing on kaidomain

First impression was like: WTF ? What did that designer think/drink?

Anybody else here gets turned off by the flashlights that come with chargers and more generally speaking - sets where there is X numbers of batts and a charger? I personally shy away from that. No idea about what charging is like CC/CV/trickle. No idea about charge rate. No idea what batteries are like. Too many variables on a subject where I try to keep it straight and simple.

$35 For an XR-E is ridiculous, charger or not.

That's the only reason I haven't picked up the new thrower from CNQG, or the Trustfire Z6.

One has the charger built-in, the other is only sold in a bundle.

The concerns you pointed out above are spot-on.

That package follows the big-ass-light/lots-o-parts/fancy-box, shuck and jive institute of perceived value. Kudos to the OP for a well chosen name . . . "The Golden Nut." Awesome.

"WOLF" is an appropriate name for a sheep of a flashlight clothed in same.

Looks like someone drank to much at lunchtime, came back to work and made a light from spare parts.

@EDC LOL! My sentiments exactly!

And generally I've begun wondering about these bundles in the hands of ordinary people. The kind of guys we all know. Living by a mantra that could be " If all else fails - look in the instructions"

People who just pop this in the socket and charge the unit for days on end. Then use at full blast till empty and recharge for days on end again.... Scary thought actually :-(
