Recommend a Drop In for a Solarforce LPX

I am going to order the Solarforce LPX and was wondering what you experts would recommend for a three way or five way drop in? I am pretty new to all this so need all the help I can get. LOL

Do you mean L2X or L2P. Both are very nice but my personal choice would be the L2P - not fond of the styling of the L2X as it looks like a pocket (or holster) destroyer to me. I'd go with an Ultrafire 3-mode XM-L dropin as sold by Manafont or if you want a more conservatively driven one (which won't be quite as bright but won't get horribly hot so quickly) I'd go for one of the Solarforce XM-L dropins.

Thanks Don for the recommendations. Yeah it is the L2X just because it is different. I already have the L2P and L2T.

Go for the MF Ultrafire 3-mode XML drop-in that Don recommended for $16. http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-cree-t6-3mode-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-max-p-5178

Very bright and very nice, only downside is visible PWM at medium and low modes.

Or if you would like to sacrifice brightness in favor of runtime and cooler operation, get the XP-G R5 dropin available in both single and 5-mode varieties:

I have found that I really like that R5 emitter in the P60 format and that it makes a very nice all-around light. It's a good compromise between the XR-E and XM-L emitters. Wider hotspot and more output than the XR-E with less power consumption than the XM-L. I'm pending delivery of a WF-502d host from Manafont to make a simple, single-mode, long-runtime light using one of these emitters.

I ordered a L2x extended and a Lumens Factory 3 mode High CRI, high voltage drop-in. But I guess your L2x is the single cell so a 2.7-4.2v dropin would give better efficiency. I don’t have one but I guess UF 3-mode XML is the best for high power. I’d choose a 3amp 8xAMC driver and build my own p60 lamp.

And get a custom .
