Best quality arc/axis style folder

I'm looking for a knife to replace my beloved SOG visionary I. I loved the ergonomics of that knife, and the vg-10 steel was pretty incredible at holding an edge.

That being said... I thought since I lost it I would see what else is out there.

Any opinions on the best folder with the axis style locking mechanism?

I'd like to be sub $50 if possible, but I spring a little higher to get good steel.

here?

I like because of low price and almost some quality.

The ATF stold my Benchmade!

X-Ray vision or mini both are made with VG-10 steel!

That's the visionary II

Mine was the visionary I

Same knife, just different dimensions

Yeah, I like both of those. Basically the same as my visionary just with different blade design.

What about a Benchmade H&K?

I do like benchmade knives. There are quite a few in the H&K line. Do you have any particular knife in mind?

The benchmade 14205 is nice but alot more than $50. I currently own the Ganzo clone, the 704 i believe. I'd love to spring for the real deal but I have too much tied up in spyderco knives. You may be able to snag a manix 2 for 50 bucks if you are lucky. it is a amazing knife. I would know, I have 3 of them :D

I was actually looking at that knife as well. What's the deal with the locking mechanism on it? I had the arc lock on the sog and I absolutely loved it. I could draw the knife and open it faster than a switch blade by pulling down on the mechanism and swinging. I could close it just as fast. I just wondered it the spyderco had a movement as smooth.

Like I said before, I'll spring for more if I can get the quality to prove the value. It's gonna be on me everyday. So, I'm willing to spend a little to make sure it's a quality blade.

Looks like I can get a manix 2 with the plain uncoated blade (which is my preference anyway) for about 75.00

My only reservation is the 154CM. It's a nice steel, but I don't think it compares to the vg-10 that's in the visionary

Update: I made a decision!
I went with the spyderco manix 2 translucent blue
I never have liked the shape and looks of spyderco knives very much, but this one is a winner. I think this is also my first non black handled knife. The new translucent blue version is much lighter as well. You get so much knife without feeling the heft in your pocket.
All in all I love this thing. Big useful knife but easy to carry. Bd1 steel is easy to sharpen, but seems to hold an edge fairly well.
A little over my budget, but I’m loving this thing.
