I have the same body as purchased from Manafont:

It's definitely a dark yellow/brown; not orange. I'm not very happy with the sample I received; the threads are very rough and seem poorly machined. Lots of machining/finishing trash in the host. This is not the same high-quality host as my original 501b I purchased from DX a couple of years ago. The camo finish is a thin coating with a rubbery texture. I wouldn't count on it being extremely rugged.

Personally, I like the 501b for a low-power host. I wouldn't use a XM-L dropin due to the large amount of empty space in the head that would take a lot of foil to fill.

ewww, thanks for the reply, the overwhelming urge is fading quickly! The manafont pictures make it look the opposite of what I want - hard to lose...

Yeah, I bought it for a custom build for a friend who loves all things camo. The pattern's not bad, but if you dropped it in a muddy field, you would never find it again... Tongue Out

hell, if I set it down in my house I'll never find it again. Only problem w/ blaze orange is the more stuff I put blaze orange tape on (mostly tools) the harder it is to distinguish them from the rest of the 'pile' in my shop

same as what keltex78 said. it is kind of a funky yellow, not at all orange, and one of the worst quality hosts i have.
