I Bought One Of These For $9 Shipped

I hope I like it.

I'd be all over that if it were 3xAA

Well here's one for you.

where did you buy the light ILF?

I got pair of similar ones, it has vertical 3xAAA battery holder, horizontal headband, ie, no top band and straight, not coiled wire.

6.5$ shipped each, had minor build quality/usability complaints and they are far from water or rainstorm proof, so I got half refund for one and full refund for other(little bit of water might have leaked into housing thus causing the light to be switched on all night even tho it was turned off, you could stare straight into LED, thats how dim it was, but it was running and didnt turn off even the next day). Good for throw, beats the SK68 on NiMh. Useless for flood, but still usable as your path-light, lights up road in front of you really well and actually has some darkish ring of spill around the main spill beam, you just dont notice it due to difference between these two beam parts :)

I ordered couple of AA holders with built in wires and switches from BIC, probably will pick them up tomorrow from post office and make mine 3xAA, suhweet!

Given the overall lights lack of water resistance I wont bother about the fact that stock battery compartment is better sealed.

Dont mean to hijack this thread :)

Not AAA definitely!

Anyone who thinks that AA lights of this model are too expensive and AAA are no-go, and Im strictly talking about the model and its variations that OP has got, then you can buy one of these:

...and simply resolder headlamp wires to this one, I just did so, it makes it heavier but it will also make it last 2.5x-3x longer depending on AA's capacity your are using ;)

And theres this small On/Off switch at the back of it, so you can forget about parasitic drain, if there ever was one :)

I bought the light off of GoMarket on ebay.

This thing rocks. Quality is very good and it has an emitter that focuses down jut like the XR-E on the Dereelight. It might not be the advertised 300 lumens. But up close I'll bet it's close to 200. And it zooms in and out and has plenty of throw and spill. I recommend it for the money.

I may post pictures when I get time.
