Smallest P60 Host

I'm sure this is a question asked all the time. What is the smallest 1 x 14500 P60 Drop-In Host. I was thinking something like the UF-501, what are your suggestions ................. Thanks ...............Knobby

Ultrafire WF-501A is one of the smallest P-60 hosts it works really good with an 18350 battery.

A mini mag drilled out "match mod" style is the smallest I can think of that fits a P-60 pill and can run 14500s.

501A is the smallest I have seen. Nice light, even on a CR123, which is what I use.

Is Solarforce L2m much bigger than the 501A?

Heh, didn't expected a comparison pic - thanks!

Going to grab 501A then, I doubt the L2m is any better value at $18 (3x the price of 501A)

The new 2011 L2m is a smoking deal at $12.50 with the extension right now.

Is it worth twice as much as the 501A maybe, it really is a much higher quality piece. I will say I still carry a 501A it just fits in my pocket better than the L2m.

KD used to sell a wicked L2M clone complete with well driven XM-L and stainless bezel for under $20. Might be worth a look if you are interested.

Oh well, can one own too many P60 hosts? I guess I'll just order one of each.

Are Solarforce's CR123A primaries any good btw? They are one of cheapest, but I haven't found any performance tests of them..

Clearly, that's the most sensible position to take.

I carry an L2m around often and while it is a little nose heavy compared to the 501A, there really isn't that much of a difference, IMHO. Of course, I also don't mind EDCing double cr123a sized lights either, so I might to be the best judge of the subtle differences in smaller lights.

I tested some 18350s I would recommend those over the 16340s for these lights. The Trustfires work exceptionally well.

That link is broken :( Also, notice the word "primaries" in my message :p

that i got was a fake solarforce and the tube was not large enough to fit 18350, or of course 18650 cells.

I like the host 501A from Manafont you posted. Quick question: I ordered (it's on snail mail) this charger 2 weeks ago: http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/trustfire-multifuctional-charger-fir-10430-10440-16340-17670-18650-cr123a-us-plug-p-1205 . Will it also charge 18350 batteries ??, or will I need to order an additional charger? .......... Thanks ............ Knobby

That's a great charger I have that one it charges 18350s. I recommend these 18350s

Thanks E1320. Gotta love this forum it certainly saves you money. Hhhhhmmm I say with tongue in cheek with six flashlights on order..... Knobby

It's only budget in the short term. As time goes by, well, not so budget after all. Your still having fun, though, so money well spent.

I have 1 of the Ultrafire WF-501A's and it is light, compact and best of all -- cheap. I just leave it in the glovebox for an emergency or to f**k with people at night.

The smallest P60 setup I've seen to date was the Solarforce L2 M Mini.

It's a Solarforce L2 body with the main tube removed. One can run a CR2 as-is, or a CR123 with a spring or tailcap mod.

It's about 18mm shorter than a L2M with the same tailcap, IIRC.

EDIT: There is also another way to get a mini. Using a Surefire LU60 adapter with an A21 makes for a VERY short 1 x CR123 torch.

Once again I had time on my hands and once again BLF has cost me money. >)

501a on order LOL

Thanks for the pics and info once again (i think) lol
