Is anyone aware of a US dealer who sells the Tritium key chains like DX/HKE and the other import dealers sell? I'm looking for a unique Mother's Day gift and nothing says "I love you mom" like the gift of radioactive material. (My mother is very unique...) I know I won't have time for an order to get here from any of the import sites. I checked eBay and couldn't find any there...
Hate to refer you to the other forum but on CPFMP there are a couple of sellers who have tritium vials. They are more expensive then the ones on DX though I'm sure they're higher quality.
Good luck with that, Tritium is heavily regulated and requires expensive permits. Tritium imports are frequently seized these days (more so than in the past) due to concerns regarding radioactive terrorist threats. The "sniffers" that Customs uses can pick up the (medical) nuclear markers in a person's bloodstream, administered 10 days earlier, while that person is sitting in his car at a border checkpoint.
I've ordered from Merkava on CPFMP and I got them 5 or 6 days later. I love mine.
Ordered from Bart and Merkava. Both are good. Out of five orders have had 1 seizure. Used all trits in rifle/shotgun sights and scopes.
Some isotopes can set them off for quite a bit longer. For example, I-131, usually used for thyroid therapy, can sometimes trigger them up to four months after administration. Many military bases and tunnels have the portal monitors in place.
It's a wonder that we get anywhere on time!
