Recommendations for Thrower under $30.00

Hello all, I have been lurking for awhile reading and learning now I am ready to purchase another light.

I am looking for the best thrower I can get for under $30.00. That is my budget at the moment, also I am not sure I want to wait for china shipping. Would prefere US seller, unless you know of one that ships fairly quick. I have a ultrafire 502b (Q5) and Olight T10 that is all I have at the moment.

I have a Amazon Prime membership and would actually prefere to buy there with the free two day shipping, but it's not mandatory.

There are so many options, it gets confusing. Thank you for your time.

I was looking at the review of this

http://www.intl-outdoor.com/roche-f12-xml-mini-18650-black-flashlight-p-399.html

Would you consider it a thrower? Or should I be looking for a C8 style light?

No, it is not a thrower. If you are going to go with intl-outdoor, go with their XIN TD C8, it is an awesome thrower and you can choose your tint.

Being that I don't have much experience yet, I would not know what tint I like. Is either of the two tint types brighter?

Alsohow long does shipping normally take from Intl-outdoor to the US?

+1 on the XINTD C8, but if you want quick ship/US seller, go with this:

It's all over the place. Here in Chicago, 3 weeks is the norm, but it's taken as long as 42 days for me. Worth it to get registered email. If you buy from Shiningbeam, it's 2-3 days.

It's about the best of my five under $30 throwers (both XR-E and XM-L). Best in terms of output, that is.

This is a great budget thrower for $14.60

The small sun is a Q5 like my 502b I guess the difference is the cone?

What do you guys think about this one. How would it compare

A Q5 in a C8 reflector would generally make a good thrower if the emitter is driven hard enough.

I went ahead and ordered the Romisen from shining beam. @750 ln I am rather excited.

I still might pick up the ultrafire C8 later Just because I would like to get into modding..that sounds like a good host platform..

Thanks all for the help..

It's good to have you here, Sidmind!

(And I think you made a good choice with the Romisen.)

Good choice in the Romisen, Sidmind. Welcome to BLF!

What about batteries for the romensin t601? I have a couple of protected ultrafire 18650s and lots of pulled laptop batteries. Also several chargers, including the 4sevens, trustfire charger and one of the generic black ones that came with the ultrafires...

Will either/both of those batteries work ok? I know long term do plan on getting some AW's. But that is for the future.

Sidmind, I have quite a few UF18650s bought when I was new to flashlights. While I wouldn't buy them anymore (since I've now graduated to better cells), I still use some of the ones I have. I find that they work in most of my single cell flashlights, but they won't work in my Balder BD-2, at least not on high. Try them out when your new light comes, but they should work ok. Cycling friend of mine has the T601 and the UFs work fine in his. Glad to hear you are upgrading to AW cells in the future.

+1

I was going to point you to this one too and to repeat, the Roche F12 is great for flood, but not a thrower. The other suggestions other members are making are good ones too.

Very nice choice

Aloha and welcome to BLF Sidmind!
