21700 batteries that fit Convoy S21A flashlight

Does anyone know the reason 18650/21700 was chosen over 26650 for the L21A ?? looking at the range of good capacity 26650 cells available i would of thought that was a better option?

Does the L21A have a different reflector than the L2? thinking i should just buy the XHP35 Hi emitter, driver and an L2 host and save a lot of aggro trying to get 21700’s ?

The L21A is just an L2 with a 21700 size battery tube, so the head is the same, but with different threads on the tube side.

However, the XHP35 driver is single cell only, so don’t use the extra tube for 2 cells. So only use 1 cell.

Yes 1 cell only (should of mentioned that) I have been searching for a 2s 2.3amp boost driver but as yet not found anything sadly… Trouble is being in the UK 21700 is hard to come by and id need a different charger as well , think il go with the L2 that way at least if i ever find a suitable 2s driver i can add a second battery

Im guessing there is no 6v XHP35 hi emitter available?

Something like THIS ?

Doesn’t NKON.NL ship to UK?

1.5amp is better than a kick in the teeth , but the driver in that L21a puts out 2.3amp taking the 35 hi to its max …

Got to say the L21a package is really hard to beat on value, if a 2.3amp 2s driver exists then putting the 35hi in an L2 is no brainer , but im kinda thinking Mr convoy would have already done it if they were available?

Maybe this:

That is an interesting driver!, im guessing id have to use 4x 26350 to get the voltage up enough for 12v emitter but it could still be a viable option , that could work

Where to find this Lii-50E? (I’m guessing the “50E” refers to using Samsung 50E 21700 or similar internally?)

I bought my batteries here:

Hi,

Will shockli 21700 4000mah fit, measured at 21.74mm wide, thanks

Just bought a Convoy S21A for my son´s birthday. Could not find Samsung INR21700-50E 4900mAh - 9.8A, so I got the Samsung INR21700-40T (40T3) 4000mAh - 35A. Should be OK? This is new stuff for me, …so if I understand correctly they are almost the same, 40T is 900mAh less, so will last a little less and its 35A is overkill, but no problem to use……OK?

thanks!!!

Should work just fine fxsniper. 35A just means it’s a high drain/power cell. Not gonna hurt the light.
