to be honest - go for the Imalent R90C!

it has the best beamshape of the “bright monsters”

X70 and MS12 burn your toes and their runtimes degrade them to dragster…

Martin, is there any chance Imalent would do a neutral white in the R90C?
And, what do you do when the battery pack is either old or no longer charging due to a dead cell or anything? How will you replace them?

Good question. I had the same thought about battery pack. CW is best for me.

I always figured once one of my battery packs dies I’ll just pull it apart and solder new cells in. It’ll probably be a pain but how bad can it really be with the right tools.

Yeah man, but that is a ” risk ” for a $500 plus light if something goes wrong?

In all reality the cells should last several years and by then it won’t be a $500 anymore anyhow, there will be something bigger and better to drool over. I would much prefer a battery carrier design like the blf so this wouldn’t be an issue but if you want a big powerful light all of them have built in battery packs. If you feel the risk is to high, don’t buy the latest greatest.

P.S x70’s can be had over at Andrew and Amanda for just over $400.

until the light just decides to die and the burning smell of electronics start i wouldnt even want a dx80 for free even… seriously stay away from imalent, they are just bad, awful quality on lights and they dont honor their warranty, some guy here sent his ms12 got it back they didnt repair it so he maybe must send it in again…. come on imalent :person_facepalming:

I have little time with her so I’ll tell you the positive and negative things I could say about the MS12.

I quite like that it uses batteries 20700, that gives it enough light duration

Holds 15,000 lumens easily @ 20c ambient temperaure

It feels quite robust I think I could survive a fall of a meter, I just hope it never happens to me I like to keep my flashlights in good condition.

It has a lot of flood, I think that in these lanterns is what you are looking for.
