samyy, thanks for the suggestion! However, for the purposes I want it, the head of the Xtar seems a bit bulkier that what I wanted! That was the first light i thought about, but the seems to be larger that what I want Yeah, I may be a bit picky on the form currently!!

BTW, I guess that Rofis R2 is a light that can be added to the “list of 14500 lights” we have been discussing

Is anything remotely close to a Zebralight AA headlamp?

Main priorities:

1. Lowest weight possible: ZLs come in around 2.8oz with everything (light, battery, headlamp)
2. Good efficiency - since I’d be using an AA instead of an 18650 I want as much runtime in the 1 - 70 lumen range as possible.

$60 isn’t crazy, but just curious if there’s an alternative out there for maybe $20-$30 less.

I have a skilhunt h03 (only 44g), but the 18650 battery makes it quite heavy.

There is new 2017 ON THE ROAD M5 AA flashlight, I am waiting one to arrive for a review. Should be nice as all OTR lights are really nice quality.

I bought one and gave it away. I don’t like the hold to turn on/off and the tint on the WW was far too yellowish for my liking and I’m a a WW/NW fan.

Sorry to necro this thread, but did you SKV89 or anyone that have/had the OTR M5 ever open the flashlight’s head to see how it is made?
If so, can anyone show any details on that?
It is very hard to find any information of this light by someone how “dismantled” it to show how it’s done!

I don’t have this light anymore. But I think I used a rubber band for grip to untwist the bezel ring if I remember correctly.

I guess the bezel wouldn’t be the hardest to access, but thanks for the information!!

I was looking for some more info on the driver “structure”, in particular.
I believe it will be more or less similar to the M3 (and the M3 clone) that some people moded here, but I wanted to be sure about that!

The UI on that light is not good at all and it has PWM, so I was looking to mod it, but I’ll only get one if I am sure it has “room” to be modded (with my skills, I mean).
