Yeah, if the code is valid then the aluminum X6/X5 set is the best deal going! Two lights for the price of one and arguably the best X6 available currently! Don’t forget to buy cells. If you get just the X6, you’ll need 18650 cell (s) and a charger. If you get the set, you’ll also need 14500 cells for the smaller light.

Get a reasonable thrower to spot the dogs a long way off. I’m more a AA guy, so I like 4xAA lights for this purpose. They’re a bit more bulky than an 18650 light, but you can holster them. I use a Sunwayman D40A neutral white. If I wanted a small 1x18650 light, I’d get a Zebralight SC600 mk3 or a SC63. I really like the Zebralights.

As for pepper spray, definitely get some if you can. Pepper spray is illegal where I live (can’t have people protecting themselves), but surprisingly bear spray is legal, and it’s way more effective. Of course, we’re not allowed to use it on dogs, but I couldn’t give a s**t about a stray dog. Blast it, just make sure to stay upwind. It won’t be bothering you again.

Hey guys, no more dog issues anymore. As of today we decided to enroll in a aerobics spin and sprint training gym and it was the best decision. With that said, im very much so interested and still looking for a great outdoor compact torch at a decent price. Thanks for all the advice.

It seems like everyone is praising the BLF X6 to be the light of choice so im no longer considering the C8 anymore.

Key points id like:

• Extremely bright (as in not being able to look directly at the light when turned on)
• 1200 lumens minimum
• Budget price point ($25-$35)
• Long range (30 - 50 meters)
• Compact (not super small but not awkwardly big)

Size wise… im looking for something similar in this range (but far less expensive):

However, around the house and for walking the dogs, I’d go for a much floodier flashlight. For you, I’d suggest treating yourself to a high CRI flashlight such as the Jaxman E2 Nichia 219B. While it falls far short of your 1200 lumen criteria, I think that you will find 300 lumens more than enough to illuminate anything within the immediate vicinity. (High Color Rendering Index provides much more accurate color rendition, more true-to-life. You’ll hear a lot about CRI, if you stick around BLF.)

I just ordered one. I would have preferred one with an output range of 5 lumens to 100 lumens, rather than 15 lumens to 300 lumens, because I find that I need the more mellow lows rather than the high octane highs. Nonetheless, I ordered one anyway because I couldn’t resist such a price for a high CRI flashlight! And I paid the extra $0.56 to expedite shipping, well worth it IMHO.
