We have mentioned the issue about the USB-C cover flap, with some having them break or loose them, hopefully they can rectify the problem with them breaking.
When I charge my LT I pull the cover off a bit and then rotate it out of the way in order to plug in the connector rather than pulling it up and out of the way. I have no evidence to back it up but my feeling is that it places less stress on the the part that attaches to the LT.
Thanks for the help guys. I just sent a message to Barry/Sofirn as MtnDon had suggested and he got back very promptly to send out a couple of spares, fantastic service.
I have several of the first 500 reserved… yet still haven’t been able to order a single unit. Hopefully all of us who have followed this project from the beginning will have a chance to receive all the lanterns we’ve preordered.
I responded to Lan Lee’s initial private message (as the Sofirn user) as per the instructions and said I need the code for LT1 + batteries (responded twice). No response. I will now send a new private message.
If you’re asking what Sofirn supplies, they’re button tops.
If you’re asking what will work in an LT1, the answer is button tops, but also the ‘extended flat top’ Sanyo GAs. Standard flat tops and flat tops where the positive contact is kind’a tall and comes close to the insulating wrap are a complete No-Go.
I work in IT, and I feel this so much. Having a day of that today, and this comment gave me a smile.
I appreciate that you answered the two most obvious questions they could have been asking, and that you were pretty thorough. This general attitude of helpfulness is part of the reason why I like this community so much.
I would add that a search (and probably the OP) would have also yielded the answers with only a little effort. Everyone should try to find the answer first, then ask after they are unable to find the answer (often, the answers can be found quicker by searching anyway).
