*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Please add me to the list! I’m in for one!

This looks great! There certainly isn’t anything of this quality on the shelves of the local camping/outdoor stores. Great work!

Ok, here it is! the video thoughts & impressions of the production-ready BLF LT1. This 15 minute video goes through the upgrades & changes, to get my thumbs-up to now go into production! Its been a long 3+ years in the making, testing, and designing a lantern that has everything that no consumer portable lantern has ever offered at no matter the cost of them. Now its in Barry & Sofirn’s hands to get it into production to begin the orders from the GB, and even after the GB i will be advertising the LT1 to family, friends, and elsewhere of a lantern that has that all other lack.

I’m in for a second.

Fantastic! Looking forward to getting one in hand!

Great update video, Den!

I really like the shade with the warm outer surface. Have you also experimented with a non-translucent shade? It seems that when suspended overhead it would be helpful to have more light bounced down rather than through the shade. I’d love to have both types of shades.

If the top screw is loosened, can the cap be rotated to change how the bail aligns with the switch?

Thanks again to you and the rest of the team for all of the hard work and perseverance. It’s finally happening! :+1:

Please put me in for a 3rd one !
No more, I promise…!

for now!

Looks great Den!!!

Time for Sofirn to get this puppy into production and then tell us how to buy them

I think the size is perfect. I’ll probably get a bowl shade because not only do I like the functionality but aesthetically it looks incredible.

It is easily adjustable, the center post cover tube of the shade has two small indents that is designed to lock the top in one position on the LED star, but its easy to file-them off, and then all you need to do is loosen the center bolt a little, then you can rotate the head to change the bail handle as you prefer. (just be careful not to over twist it as the three wires will twist around the bolt)

I’m in for a third.

I can’t resist - I’m in for 1 and maybe more later for gifts

Looks perfect - thanks to all involved!

Any chance of a link to the UI cheat sheet???

I really hope that mechanical lock out issue will be resolved on the production units.
Long term storage with installed batteries would be great.

Would the paper battery terminal covers work for long term storage?

I’m in for 2

DBSAR,
I don’t know if people would like it and if Sofirm would willing to make it since it would be another part to manufacture but I would definitely use a male bottom cap (with tripod mount) to seal the head and protect driver contact when used on a powerbank.
The idea would be to save weight in a backpack. Solar panel, powerbank for electrical devices, LT1 head only for light. No need to have the battery tube with 4x batteries if a powerbank is already carried.

Put me down for a third as well

I was just going to get my lanterns takes some measurements. Create a 3D print file. Print it then seal the Cap. Use a suitable O-ring… And hey presto seal unit to use without batteries…… When Have done one(once have laterns to take measurements etc) am happy to share the file and even print a few for the cost of postage and filament……

Please could we have the UI cheat sheet?? PRETTY PLEASE!!!

Interested in 2 lanterns

WOW. Now where do I get the bowls?

Are they jus plastic table wear?
