Sorry, I’m not very knowledgeable about leds. How would this compare to XP-L/XP-L HI in 18650 flashlights? Are companies going to switch from XML2/XP-L to this now, meaning there will be new versions of lots of flashlights?
XPL is an XM die on an XP 3.5mm^2 base. XPG (2,3) have smaller dies which correlates to a tighter spot in a given reflector or optic. How much it gets used depends on how popular it is and whether it represents an upgrade in how we use them rather than how they’re used for lighting in general. If it sells it gets cloned.
Does anyone know when will IOS or Simon start offering the XPG3?
