ENEDED

Thanks Freeme, bought one

Does anyone know what Nichia 219C is used in v2? I hope it is RA9050 SM503.

Please send me a code for a MF01. Thanks.

Does anyone have a source for the Torx screws that go into the countersunk holes in the brass ring that holds down the driver? One of mine came stripped and loctited, so things got messy during removal and now I’m down to two screws only. Maybe having only two screws is fine, but I’d like to get even pressure distribution on the driver, if possible.

Speaking of difficulties. Have others found the bezel easy to remove? Mine had red loctite and I needed a vise and strap wrench for removal.

Leave everything intact if the light it function well. Drop a mail for their customer service if you wish to have a replacement for the worn off screw(s). As for the ss bezel, i believe they have applied some threadlocker for second batch on wards. Quite a few owners have mentioned in previous post.

They are using this.

Ok, I’ll contact customer service to see about the screws. I’ve got the light totally disassembled since I’m installing a driver from Lexel.

+1 It will be challenging task but i heard it is worth the effort.

Done, bought a Nichia. Thanks a lot for the code.

I should get my mf 01 on thursday… if i do get it on thursday, shipping time will be 9 days… fast!!!either way, i will play the light for a while then mod it with lexel driver… will give short recview on this light…

The MF01 isn’t listed any more at Banggood, does somebody know why?

I think it’s an error , from Banggood webpage .

Sweet. Thanks for the Nichia info Freeme! But I can’t tell if it is a RA503 or something. Is this a 5000k LED? What CRI? I think it says it’s a D260, meaning 260lm @ 700mAh but I can’t tell if it’s 5000k. I also think it says it’s a SM505 making it white as per the picture. I’m not sure how to tell exactly what color temp of white it’s referring to. I’ll be getting my MF-01 Nichia version next week to go with my XP-G3!

I think I figured it out.

It must be a 5500K color temperature.

Digging up some specs from Nichia’s website says:

SM505

x 0.3447
y 0.3553
a 0.005925
b 0.014030
Ø –31.78

Reference

Referencing the MacAdam color space chart with these numbers seems to show it is 5500k If I’m reading it correctly.

I still don’t know what the CRI is though.

Here’s the best I could reference color tints. Sadly there is no sm505 to reference.

My MF01 (V2) had the bezel thread glued.
I had to use a belt tool to loosen it.
Luckily there was little glue, it was transparent.

I had very little amount of thermal paste.

The torx of the driver seems to be glued also.
I destroyed the heads.
Could someone tell me screws size?
TIA

Nichia leds are 5000K .

5000K , 5 steps mc addams

Thanks for the correction. Would you say the tint looks more like the SM503 shown in the flashlight beam comparison I posted?

Yes , i would say it’s pretty much the same, at least on my V1 light .

Cool, thanks. I dig that tint. Not too far away from NW and not too far from CW. That’s my perfect tint preference balance without getting too yellow or blue!

It’s actually about 5000k according to Mauuka’s test.

Today i received my MF-01 head i sent to Lexel for modding…
OMG! 13k+ Nichia lumen at startup on fresh 30Qs!
I wonder whether i could fry an egg…

Glad i now have Narsil and ramping to handle this huge amount of light.
The GITD tape inside the optic is a nice touch too.

@Lexel: great work! :+1:
