No one knows if his light is working properly or how accurately his light meter reads neutral white lights.
I just received my nichia light and have only used it a little with protected cells. Compared to my 4000+ lumen mountain bike setup and my MT07 there’s no way its only making 7000 lumens. Judging by how slowly it’s heating up in turbo switching to good unprotected cells will bump up the output even more.
My light’s completely awesome, smaller and brighter than I was expecting.
There will be some changes made to the MF-01 driver, to eliminate uneven brightness issues that a handful users have experienced with the units. We need to address to it before we could resume MF-01 sale.
I feel that the driver could be the issue with my MF-01. The inital problem was uneveness in one bank, before becoming a continuous Turbo issue with the same bank. In very brief testing, I have been able to get it to operate as it initially did. However, after only one cycle through the modes, the bank returns to it’s current constant Turbo state.
So, my light’s issue does no appear to be grounding/shorting, as JasonWW speculated. Just a more extreme case of the driver issue.
I have yet to receive any further communication from BG. So, I continue to wait…and wait, and wait, and wait.
Forgive me, all. I’m really not trying to be a buzzkill on here. It’s just that it’s a little more than frustrating that after a week, my MF-01 still sits idle, and I still have no resolution for my light.
What did Banggood say? Did they want you to send the light back for repair? Did they offer you a partial refund and you keep the light? Have they ignored you?
You have an interesting device. Thank you for posting :+1:
Compared to sunlight, 219C seems to be higher in color temperature.
People’s eyes get used to it, so it looks different from the one you see at night at different impressions.
The last valid response from BG, is that that they had contacted the MFG and were waiting for a reply. Freeme stated that the head of the MF-01 project would contact me soon, but that was two days ago.
2 days? I’d wait at least 2 weeks and if they got back to me before then, I’d consider it a win.
It’s possible they might want you to send the light back to them and they send you a new one. So maybe you’ll have a working light in 6 to 8 weeks maybe? I would not be holding my breath.
It was sitting in one of the many cardboard boxes I never opened for about 3 years, since my last move in a new apartment.
I really don’t know if it is still accurate but I used it a lot, long time ago with a toyo-view D45M and an old rolleiflex, both almost beated to death…but all is a matter of good lenses. Japaneses and germans were the best at making great tools, lenses, cameras.
I tried to measure the temperature of the MF-01’s beam but there is too much variations over the beam to have something relevant.
Here’s mine in lowest mode.
There are some slight differences (that I really don’t care) in tint and brightness but nothing that follow the pattern of the 3 banks of 8 LEDs. Probably only the small difference/tolerance within a batch of LEDs. Or two different batches mixed before soldering them.
