I dont care, I have two i4 V2’s from DinoDirect, they seem well built.
Sure, if someone asks Nitecore to post pictures of dissembled i4 V2, I wouldnt mind dissembling mine and comparing innards.
But Im not going to lose my sleep over this.
+1 My i4 v2 from the DD group buy works well (only use it on li-ions), and I’m not at all bothered by all this. I don’t leave any li-ion charger charging alone anyway, and will just continue to keep an eye on it when it’s on.
Good grief! My one-time big-time theory still works…my Pila IBC, C9000 and iCharger still working like a Swiss watch.
Initially more expensive, but in the long run I have saved money and more importantly much less worrying to use, if at all.
I agree with you however most of Xtar charges I bought were either sold or given to people (family/friends). I would feel pretty awful is one of them became defective and burned their house down.
Just sent a message to a bestvaping representative, both to ask whether they had counterfeit goods and if they knew anything else.
Got an Xtar WP2 II charger today from Wallbuys from the awesome Christmas sale and it has the user guide complete with optional accessories shown so I have to think it is legit.
I doubt the copycats would go to the expense of nicely printed manuals, but i could be wrong.
Anyway, I am charging a battery on it as we speak and no smoke has come out of it 
Will check voltage when the battery finishes charging.

I bought a WP6 II last month, it terminates very precisely at 4.2V. I think it is good one.
I can’t believe at what some of you guys look at to determine if something is legit or not. Printing or the shade of a label will not necessarily tell you what you want to know. If you want to get paranoid, you should know that the counterfeiting can go a lot deeper than you may care to think about. Chips, IC’s resisters, capacitors etc are all counterfeited. I have said it before and I will say it again.
Do you want to spend a lot of money and be cheated, or would rather spend a little, and be cheated.
It is an impossible situation in China, and until they are able to change the way they think and do business, their society will reap the results of all the short cuts they are using, trying to progress.

Cosmetic wise we can really tell between fakes and genuine. Internal circuits can also tell us something. And I have seen a fake selling higher price than the real one. Believe it or not, selling price is the easiest to be faked.

it came in a study box, a plastic tray, instructions, charging cable (wall socket and car charger) and 2 spacers

I find it hard to believe XTAR don’t have retailers in China, China is such a big market.
Actually, nothing. They are also knock offs of Spyderco, Benchmade, Hinderer, Chris Reeve and others, not just the designs sometimes the names and logos.
They have copy of China/HK manufactured products. Even skyray king has its china version as I saw in taobao this “If you want to buy international version of SRK please look elsewhere.
