They wanted to do a “TK special edition” in purple since I keep talking about purple anodizing, and they asked for a logo. So I made up a quick sketch of what I’d like to have on the tail of mine.

My wife has been avoiding lights with complex UIs so far, but if there is a TK Special Edition in purple she will need it. Maybe it will even convert her.

What am I saying? Then I’ll be buying lights for two. This is a bad idea!

Just a quick update…

The SST-20 version is available to order now, and the tint bin is FA3.

The coupon codes at Neal’s Gadgets are “NDFW3A” and “BLFFW3C”. These work for the aluminum version (FW3A) and the copper version (FW3C), respectively.

Neal asked for the coupons to be published, now that the copper and SST-20 lights are available.

I wonder if it really is the FA3 tint bin because according to TA, there’s only about 1,000 pieces of the real FA3 and Mateminco snatched them up already.

Fireflies previously thought they bought the FA3 tint bin but it was actually FB4 from our testing. It might be possible the Lumintop purchased the FA3 from the same supplier meaning it is actually FB4. Hopefully that’s not the case.

The copper version is begging for warm white LEDs.

7A looks nowhere near that orange IRL. Those beamshots dont do the color justice at all.

People still don’t get that a LED needs to be/has to be judged by eyes and a picture just give a rough idea.

There’s a photo of a prototype Ti-Cu model a few pages back in this thread next to the copper prototype.

Considering the full copper is already available for order, I suspect the Ti-Cu won’t be that far away (it’s like the Ti-Cu Emisar D4 - copper head, titanium bezel, body tube and tail).
