So is it dedomed, or domeless? The distinction being one never had a dome put on it by Cree in the first place so cant be dedomed. The other at some time having a dome that was removed.

I usually over-complicate simple things so they work a little better but…
Attach dome to piece of ABS rod by nose with glue that is neutral to the chemicals.
Prepare a solvent bath with a cleaner (like alcohol) that rests on the bottom layer of top solvent.
Hang LED by ABS rod in top liquid solvent layer.
When dome is ready gravity will tug against rod until dome releases.
When dome releases, LED falls through top solvent immediately into cleaning agent layer, which also stiffens any leftover pieces of dome so they aren’t hard-to-grab jello bits.
Use magnifying glass to inspect and clear remaining plastic.
I’ve never broke a bond wire (or static diode wire) after years of this.
