I bought a GT Mini Pro accidentally during Illumn’s recent sale, not noticing the Pro designation or knowing the variant existed, but realized my mistake before the light shipped and decided to check it out anyway. As others have said, it’s a useful (optimal?) combo of throw and flood, with roughly the range and candela count of the GT Micro plus additional flood and runtime. I considered the Micro but thought the tradeoff of slightly larger size (the Mini form factor is still quite small) for added power (18650 vs 14500) favored the Mini. The Pro can be configured in NarsilM to draw 4.5A or 9A at 100% (see below), which combined with the provided short tube that allows 18350 use, gives a lot of flexibility in battery selection. I haven’t figured out exactly what niche, need or problem the product team was trying to solve with this light, but it’s an interesting all-around performer.
I have this light. Now that SFT-40 is out, I wonder if this is worth swapping the emitter out.
