It seems as though the Xeno E03 is the most popular when anyone requests a new light.
I also hands down vote for the Xeno!
I bought the xeno with the diffuser. Used it as a nav light the other night when out fishing. Stuck it in the end of a pole as the boat I was on had no white navigation light

Sure more than $40, but well spent money.

I'd buy them a nitecore ex-10 from boaz .
I don't think I'd buy a non flashaholic a AAA light ..maybe an f-23 ...small lights won't be appreciated by a non-flashaholic.maybe a AA flood to throw ..but not a sipik 68 ..something a little less aggressive .

I suggest the Xeno E03 too! Regular AA cells and if the receiver gets hooked he/she can upgrade to a 14500. Best light for the money and I STILL don't have one!
