I just got my 6000 K Acebeam T27. I like it a lot. What a throw! It out performance of my ODL 20 C by quite a bit. Manker MK35 has more through but it is slightly taller and much beefier. I like the big steel bezel on both the Manker and the Acebeam. Personally, I find the manker much more aesthetically pleasing, but the Acebeam is way lighter and easier to carry.
The new Emisar D1S+ may well compete here. That should be out in a day or two and and will be much smaller and less expensive.
I'm not talking about the D1s. I have one and its wonderful but as you say, only 700m. I'm talking about the new D1s+ that Hank just announced. Instead of 130K CD it will have 350K CD and hence should be a contender. It will be available later this week. I'm excited. That's allot of CD for such a small light.
It has a lot of power for how compact it is. However, If you like/love turbo like I do I would not bother with it. Besides that, mine had two malfunctions and I sent it back.Inconsistent Turbo reactivation and malfunctions w/ the side switch and tail switch when you wanted to switch over. The switches MUST be turned off before we can activate the other one,i did that and still numerous malfunctions.
It would be a GREAT light for me if someone could figure out how to make it single mode/DD or somehow extend the turbo to 5 minutes. My first run with it I bumped up continuously for 30 minutes and the light did NOT get hot. iirc the Temp was ~ 30/35F.
Interesting. You’re talking about the T27, right? I’ve only had mine for a couple of days, but I see no such problems. I can turn the flashlight on with the side switch, and then click the tail switch to go to full turbo. I don’t have to turn off the side switch to do this.
Yes,this is a T27 thread!VERY STRANGE. The switches are used independently and as stated in the manual and the reviews,we MUST deactivate one switch in order to use the other.Maybe yours is malfunctioning to your benefit! lol!
Information in one of the reviews:
Please note that if you click on the Tactical Tail switch at the beginning, any operation on the side switch is useless.
Yes, A T27 thread, but we had been discussing the D1S+. Hence my clarification. No worries.
If I activate the light with its side switch, I can still go to turbo withits tail switch. However if I go to turbo withits tail switch, the side switch no longer works. I think that is proper operation and I like it very much. So far so good.
