Is my Klarus G20 a Chinese clone ??

How would you put it in the "manual turbo" tho... ? Mine only has the momentary... ?

Low, med, high, turbo. You have 4 steps.
RTFM….

Yes, I do have 4 steps, then the momentary turbo which is brighter than the 4th step, so my 4th step isn't turbo..

Its the effect on your eye because you keep on cycling modes.

Do this. Set the side switch to turbo the turn it off. Then you can compare them quickly by using momentary tail switch then side switch. You will notice they are both the same brightness

What I was doing was going up to 4th level, going to the momentary turbo from there, with the cut-off (hold > off > turbo) release the button, then it would return to the 4th level without any cut-off (turbo > release > 4th lvl) So there wasn't any eye adaptation period from turbo back to 4th lvl of brightness.

The turbo is the 4th level! Now the step down when doing momentary for 12 sec is not high or turbo. Im assuming its like more than 650 lumens maybe a thousand lumens.

But for manually putting to 4th level/turbo it will stay 3000 in regards to the temp. Mine stays long when im outside since the weather here in CT is god damn cold freezing.

Unless my step-down it's occurring right at the instance when I'm releasing the button after whatever period from half a second to anything under 12 seconds, we're talking about two different interfaces.

Btw...

Can you spot the difference ?

My manual front cover: VS yours:

Anything under 12-15 sec its the turbo which is 3000lumens. Without releasing after 12-15secs it will step down to higher than 3000lumens. This is the same setup on the manual turbo selected after 3 mins or so. This is how mine reacts as im ok with it

So you have 4 brightness levels as I understand:

Low > Medium > High > Turbo (which is the same with the momentary Turbo)

What I have is 5 brightness levels:

Low > Medium > High > Turbo and momentary Turbo (which is higher than Turbo from the main sequence)

Now, I don't have a lux meter or whatever other luminous intensity measurement tool, but the 5 brightness steps look pretty much linear to my eyes, like in, hard to confuse them, low to med, med to high, high to turbo and turbo to... let's call it "momentary Turbo Boost"..

So, charged battery, cold flashlight - Turn On with tail cap (Low) > tap (Medium) > tap (High) > tap (Turbo) - this so far is the main sequence (takes 2 seconds tops to go through the 4 levels / If kept, the Turbo would last at least 30 sec. without stepping down) - continuing on - hold 2sec. (Off / eye adapts - unreliable.. ) > keep holding another 2 sec. (momentary Turbo "Boost" - which will last about ~10 sec.) - we still have a cold flashlight and a fully charged battery t this point at about 6 seconds in tops > release button (Turbo - from the main sequence, 4th brightness level) - can see significantly lower brightness than the "Momentary Turbo Boost" (5th brightness level - not accessible in the main loop sequence) - no eye adaptation at this point, as the transition from momentary Turbo "Boost" to Turbo from the main loop sequence is instant as you're releasing the button. Should the Momentary Turbo be the same as the main loop sequence Turbo (the 4th level of brightness) provided that we've accessed it from the main sequence Turbo, releasing the button from this level back to the main sequence Turbo should not make any visible difference between the two modes at least for the first 10 seconds of use or so, after which you can expect the step down.

I don't know how t explain it more short than this, but the short story is that I do have 5 distinctive levels of brightness on this flashlight and it's nearly impossible to not discern between them. If you're saying that your unit has only 4 brightness levels, then we are talking about two different drivers, two different interfaces.

Provided that my manual also looks different that yours, that clearly specifies version 2, it's not so hard to imagine that mine might just as well be a knockoff, which I'm most inclined to believe.

If you have 5 levels looks like a electronic dysfunction or i must say yours is fake G20
May i know whos is the seller?

As can be seen in post #9, it's AliExpress, Shop being "Ok Light Store".
