3V XHP50.2 DEDOMED

New dedomed leds available at KD :+1:
(3V & 6V XHP50)

But there’s an error in 3V offer: no field for choosing mcpcb size and thus impossible to add to cart.
Can we have it fixed? Please? :innocent:

Looks sliced and diced.
I’m impressed.

Ban could work on his picture quality. But the slice/dice job like it looks from the blurry images seems not great.

The flip chips are safer to slice as the bonding wires are hidden and you can go fairly low when slicing. Id recommend people give it a go themselves might be a good mod to start with. Get a washer and razor and try.

Yeah I’m not a surgeon at all and only failed one on three attempt.
Last one is in my Astrolux FT03 :

Is there any point in going lower than the bonding wires? That is very little dome leftover thickness. When looking at the emitter from above and paying attention at the apparent die size, big change can be seen with dome versus no dome or as the dome is being lowered by slicing. At some point going down the optical gain starts being negligible.

:-)

The XHP50.2 has no bond wires. So you can slice right to the edge of the phosfor. It does have a few exposed ESD-wires but they are not essential for function and with a bit of luck you can even keep them whole.

Hi

I had added the stock for 3V version.

Thank you

Ban

Many times I’ve heard how slicing was hard to do reliably and expensive and not a practical option for anyone but modders.
Here I see KD offering something actually harder (because dicing reqiures some precision). Even if it’s not done great, I appreciate Kaidomain’s willingness to try to walk this not well treaded path. I appreciate it a lot.

Already spoke about earlier, imho most practical way is O:) dedomilling.

Ended up ordering a 25 piece feeler gauge set of blades, by the way.

Hi BanL.

Is there a chance that you can sell the triple Nichia 4000K 92CRI on a 20x1.5mm MCPCB? I see it’s only available on a 20x1mm MCPCB.

Hi Kevin

Please don’t worry.

All our triple led had upgraded to 20mm (D) x 1.5mm (Thickness) once.

I will update to all the descriptions.

Thanks

Ban

Hello BanL.

I have noticed that you recently started selling a new light:

Would it be possible to get the SST-20 3000k version such as seen here?

Thank you.

Small off-topic.

Borrowed the following picture from such advertisement:

Since when is micro-USB “not convenient”? I wish people would stop pouring crap over existing technologies (or whatever) just for the newer stuff to look better. Completely unnecessary shithead attitude imho.

:-)

BanL I am looking for a few ∅9mm reflector hole gaskets. I see a couple possible options:

  1. http://kaidomain.com/Flashlight-DIY-and-Tools/Misc-Parts/S024675-11mm-D-x-0_65mm-T-White-Plastic-Insulation-Gaskets-for-Cree-XM-L-10-pcs Note: the listing says “for ∅7mm diameter XM-L bottom reflector”. This cannot be correct (5050 diagonal is larger than 7mm).
  2. http://kaidomain.com/Flashlight-DIY-and-Tools/Misc-Parts/S024676-10mm-D-x-0_9mm-T-White-Plastic-Insulation-Gaskets-for-Cree-XM-L-10-pcs

The first option (1) is listed with a 0.65mm base thickness, while the second (2) says 0.9mm. May someone explain what does this means? Do the 0.65mm gaskets are for XM-L emitters, while the 0.9mm thick ones are for XHP50s?

Thanks for helping.

Cheers :-)

Thank you Ban!

Hi Barkuti

“For 7mm diameter XM-L bottom reflector” : It means this is for the flashlight reflector with 7mm (D) emitter hole

The common emitter hole is 7mm or 9mm in the market.

If you find 9mm reflector hole gaskets, this gasket is not suitable for you.

0.65 thickness is taking the gasket thickness.

Ban, what’s the Vf bin of the SST-20 3500K emitters on your site? I see the 4000K and 2700K are both VH. Are the 3500K’s VH, VJ or VK?

BanL I understand what you say concerning effective gasket thickness, meaning it determines reflector's height over the MCPCB and thus focus.

However, pay attention BanL please. I think the 11mm(D) x 0.65mm(T) White Plastic Insulation Gaskets for Cree XM-L - 10 pcs product description is wrong. First of all, it describes a gasket of ∅11mm, that is a lot bigger than ∅7mm and would mean a border 2mm thick! And it says it is for XM-L emitters. XM-L emitters are “5050” or 5 × 5mm, which means they measure more than 7mm (≈7.07107mm) of diagonal and cannot fit in ∅7mm inner hole reflectors.

The product description must be wrong. It should say Suitable for 9mm(Dia.) XM-L bottom reflector.

Cheers :-)
