I’m an old guy too, but personally; I’d just as soon not go out a victim of a crazed idiot.
I’d rather it be a level playing field…. where there was at least a snowballs chance of taking out the criminal. To me, that is much more useful than being a sacrificial lamb…. that leaves the criminal free to harass &/or kill others.
