You might wanna search on BLF for calculating throw
Thanks for the offer, but i already got the FT03, which i think better suits my needs.
C8’s are nice, Idk if mine go 700meters though, if that’s what you mean
C8 from mtnelectronics or a lot of people like shenzhen convoy. I have some I got off ebay probably fake emitters now still not bad.
That’s a nice pocket thrower
so if i understand correctly throw distance is the distance at which you can illuminate an area with .25 lux/moonlight. correct?
Klopt.
But 0,25 is very optimistic. People use 1 most of the time.
Hmm, no PM option Pete ?

Not that i can see, where should i be able to see it?
I’ve only been a member for 10 hours now, maybe that has something to do with it.
Ive lurked these forums for quite some time, never bothered to make an account.
I had assumed the difference would be near nothing since the XHP has twice the lumen, the website i saw said the sst40 had 50m more throw, so i went for the brighter one. on the subject of throw, how is throw distance calculated? what does it mean when a flashlight has xxx amount of throw? id like to see the definition of it somewhere but i cant find it.
Throw can be calculated by using a lux meter. There is a youtuber who does flashlight reviews and measures throw with his lux meter pretty accurately, I can’t think of his name at the moment.
You can YouTube comparisons of both versions of the ft03 to see the difference.

You might need to make a minimum number of posts before PMs are allowed. That is a common feature to limit spambots.

A C8+ with a sanded down SS bezel, a.k.a. Foybezel
Like many here, I don't like the bezel that comes with a Solarforce L2P. I'll let you decide if it turned out okay. Herewith; the new slimline series from the design studios of Foybezel. Before [image] After [image] Don't be fooled by fakes - insist on genuine Foybezel. Because your flashlight deserves to be Foyed.
