Lumintop GT4

Now a quad SBT90.2 light, that would be something that doesn't exist, least I think, and I would think could attract interest. Pricey - yes, but unique, and possibly the smallest big extreme thrower around? Could be, least for the price. Maybe adds $75-$90 to the cost in LED's alone and would need a 4P battery carrier, hopefully can take two.

I have been trying to get them to either make a prototype or send me some SBT-90.2 LED’s so I can build one for months now. Sadly I have just gotten silence on that front as well.

Hi TA! Do you know if anyone converted the GT battery carrier(s) to 4P, if so, any tips or pics?

I got a spare SBT90.2 and think'n where best to use it. A GT, of course, would be ideal, but also I still have an old BOSS1 (4P of 26650's, big reflector).

I don’t think anyone has actually converted the carriers yet but it should not be that hard. Could make some PCB’s on oshpark that would work or the quicker option is just to do the old cut traces and rebuild them with wire thing. It would take some work but totally possible.

Could you just use the stock battery carriers if you wire the 4 3v leds in series?

K, thanx. I'll look into it. Lately it takes me forever to do much of anything. Still working on a 1504 pill to fit a 20 mm MCPCB of the SBT90.2, and I do have an SBT90.2 sitting in a spare pill for the Brynte B158, but the stupid spare pill fits an 18 mm driver, not 17 mm like the stock B158 pills

Dunno why it was changed like that. Not sure I can dremel down a 20 mm driver to 18, because based on my measurements, it would totally eliminate the ground ring on the bottom side, preventing good contact to the brass pill. Probably need to move it to a stock B158 pill, and drill out the LED wire holes again. The holes are too close in for the 20 mm MCPCB.

Well for me, the GT4 is vapor. I actually have a couple spare GT's - they are real, so trying to make do with what I got.

Yes, that is the plan for the GT4 and why I think the GT4 is a better candidate then the GT for the SBT-90. (they took my suggestion and started working on a GT with the SBT-90 at one point).

For Tom like he said, he only has a GT to work with.

This light would be the 1st of its kind with 4 SBT-90.2s in it. It would be a beast. So far from what TA has said, the passive cooling on the gt4 could run 4 xhp70.2s until cells depleted. I don’t know what the heat difference is between xhp70.2s and SBT-90.2s but I would think it would give a good runtime given the amount of power, while also not sounding like a blowdryer. And with 4 emitters and deeper reflectors, it would also outthrow the Imalent R90ts as well would it not?

Mind….BLOWN
dang dang how cool

The Miller is back, nice to see you here again

How did I miss this thread ? awesome light.

Eta? Updates? Anything?

Nothing, I am guessing they are working on other things for the holidays and I would not expect any updates until next year at the earliest at this point.

they are preparing for production

of course now we want to know more. :sunglasses:

I also just get bits :(

Have they confirmed they are going with the XHP70.2 or is there a chance they will go with the SBT-90.2?

I wonder what will happen with this project now that it’s been announced Lumintop will bring the original Blf Gt back with the upgraded sbt-90.2 led?

I’d like to see if proceed as planned because they are two completely different lights with two completely different purposes.

Now, if they replace the four 70.2’s with four 90.2’s, then I wouldn’t mind so much. That would be a mind blowing light.
