I'm very disappointed with my A02. Don't buy it, use the money for another one of Martin's awesome deals!
Here's why:
The tail switch does indeed protrude by a comical amount and bends to the side easily. It's also really stiff due to the thick rubber cap having to deform a whole lot. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op-6klX76UU
Also it has NEXT MODE MEMORY. It'll always turn on in the mode following the mode you used last. If you turned it off yesterday using medium brightness, it'll turn on in high mode. If you then turn it off and turn it on again the next day it'll turn on in moon mode. Unusable! Who thought this was a good idea?!
Brightness with AAA alkaline is very disappointing. With a buck-boost driver and twice the price of a Sofirn C01S I expected more output than from the Sofirn. But the C01S is much brighter when using alkaline.
Also my protected TrustFire 10440 is too long for the light, but the threads aren't anodized so it works even when not tightened fully. The threads are also really sharp, I expected nicer threads. Apart from the extremely long switch it actually looks good though.
Yes, I can confirm this. I was actually planning to just buy this to take the driver and use with a custom AA/14500 light I am working on, but the Next Mode Memory ruined it. Very disappointing, because the modes and output levels are great. Waste of money (for me anyway)
If I can find a 10mm driver I’m tearing this apart. Actually ordered 2. Hopefully a switch too.
