Need a simple AA torch that turns on in low or has memory

Hmm, 7bux a pop? Even Xtardirect has them for 22bux each. At first I thought they may’ve been selling a 3-pack, 1 of each color, but nope!

The switch is annoying, but they’re still decent lights, even at the 13bux I got mine for offa Amazon.

For the same price, though, I’d stick with the Jet-1 over the WK50, but if I could get them for 7bux a pop… stocking-stuffers!

As for burning down AAs, whatever doesn’t power my Quark anymore — oh, Hell, what doesn’t power my wireless optical mouse anymore — I stick into my 3buk AA side-clicky light, which works fine right down to “moonlight mode” when the AA alkie just starts to ooze.

That little light is what I keep on my table at night when I don’t want to ruin my night-vision. No more “Gaaaah! I’m blind!” by accidentally turning it on in “turbo” mode.

I preset mine before I hit the sack. I think I got emailed a flyer from Xtar back when. I thought that if you ordered over $30, they paid shipping, but even from their ebay store, it’s $7 and $2.60 to ship, which is pretty darn cheap. That being said, I thought I saw the Jet-1 MK on flash sale for like $10.60 so I’m more likely to go that route. Still, $7…. lol I’m such a sucker…

Those jetbeam jt-1 come in WW? Looks like the sipik sk68, which I like, but haven’t found a good source ( in part , because I need to look lol)

It’s a lot slimmer than an sk68, no sliding zoomer, no tail button. Flat glass lens, OP reflector and IPX8. IMO it’s much better made.
AFAIK LED tint is not an option. Good luck!

Just ordered a Jet-1 MK for $12.21 from Gearbest using coupon code MKDEAL. Was actually $10.99, but I added insurance.

Kewl, tnx!

Was wondering if that’s 2.60 total, or per-unit. If total, pretty good!

I think it was the Jet µ that was flashing for ~10bux or so. Tempted, then remembered it uses AAAs. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yeah, I’m like a fat kid in a candy store when it comes to lights, now.

Yeah, I always add insurance and tracking, which kicks up the price a bit, but I’d rather not have problems later.

It is the vendors responsibility to get the product to you. Once they find out that you have insurance they may consider themselves off the hook and are less likely to reship something that they may have never shipped to begin with.
Most of us have gotten fake tracking numbers from most of the China vendors, it is one of their many tricks to buy time for something that did not drop ship on time.
Tracking is worth it if it works, that is not always the case either.

Insurance is money that you may as well get out of your pocket and set on fire.
PayPal is all the insurance you need. If they don’t want to back you up, then your credit card company should.
Always use credit card and not paypal balance.

Yeah, I can see both sides of the issue. Only ordered from GB veryvery recently, so had no idea how reliable they might be.

Eg, I’ve mainly dealt with FT who, despite being painfully slow, always got me my goodies with no extra ding for tracking or insurance.

In fact, probably 9 out of 10 times, their supplied tracking number does carry over to the USPS site for tracking. In fact, one just arrived in the local PO and I should be getting it tomorrow morning. Email alerts are wonderful…

I think the ones via China Post carry over to the USPS. Those via Singapore Air(?) don’t. In fact, of this order, which was split into 2 shipments, one was trackable and one wasn’t.

Amazon just plain has their a-to-z policy, and I’ve known people who’ve been actually happy to get wrong merch. Eg, my gf ordered some Panny-Bs which were unprotected, even said so in the fine-print, but the pic clearly showed the sense-strip running down the side (and button-top, while what she got were flat-tops). I just nudged her about the wording to use, and Amazon told her to kindly keep the unprotected cells and donate/use/toss/etc. them as she saw fit, and they’d refund the purchase price. Wow!

And I got a nice set of (legit) Panny-Bs out of it, so I’m not complaining!

I don’t do PP, so everything would be by card only. And yeah, on principle I hate insurance, but I wonder if GB would be all like, “Well, you could’ve added insurance and we’d’ve sent you a replacement package, but you didn’t, so you’re SOL.”.

I could always grex here in public about being screwed, etc., and hopefully a rep would make good on it, if only to keep up appearances.

I’m still waiting for my goodies from them, so I’m getting kinda antsy.

Basically, I’m still kinda new to GB, only got my Jet1 and am waiting for a buncha other goodies, so have to see how they turn out over time.

All good points.
The Swedish NL post is the one for me that the tracking is useless.
I used to not upgrade the shipping, but now go to the USPS E-Packet for usually less than $2, which after the BLF discount comes out close and it is worth every penny.
Now 2 weeks is the norm from China, where before it was 3 1/2 to 4 weeks.
FastTech is a good shipper and most of the good vendors have upped their game as of late.
Always when possible order one item per shipment, those split shipments are asking for trouble.

Amazon is the best, will gladly pay more to buy from them, they just make it so pleasant.
Thanks!
Keith

PS; that Jet 1 is a rockin flashlight, great quality, TRUE Budget Light!

Maybe it’s the month-long do-nothing holiday there, or what, but it seems like a month per order for me lately. :stuck_out_tongue:

Naw, they split it on me. Ordered an L2, that was the only critter that either had to be shipped from elsewhere, or was “on hold” long enough to ship separately.

Odd thing is, both parts shipped on the same day (over a week after ordering, though), so both should ideally be coming to me tomorrow.

Previous order, it was a set of XP-L HIs that were pending, pending, pending, ’til they finally shipped everything else to me first, then the HIs later.

Yeah, like the pink WK50, paid a few bux more on Amazon because of their a-to-z.

That, I’d want either 1-mode or with a reverse-clicky (much prefer a forward-clicky), because mode-changing with a lousy rubbery switch is a pain. The switch is the weakest link in an otherwise wonderful chain.

Yep! I generally don’t think twisty and multimode go together, but the Jet 1 is beautifully designed.

Love the simple elegant styling, too.
