New bike lights at DX (complete packs)

... this is the one I got earlier this summer. It looks a lot like those ones but it was more money. I still think it was totally worth it because it was WAY brighter than lights costing over $200 locally.

In fact 5 of us got them for a 24 hour relay race in the rocky mountains near Canmore Alberta. It came with two o-rings for different diameter handlebars and a velcro strap for the battery. The mounting systems worked great on very rough terrain. I did 3 night laps (about 4.5 hours) riding like it was daytime and I never had a problem with the light or the battery coming loose on its mounting.

Many people rode significantly slower on night laps than their day laps (10-20 min). However all my team members with this light were only a couple minutes slower on the night laps. In fact one guy on our team did his fastest lap at night! Notably, he mounted the light on his helmet instead of the handlebars, maybe that helped for looking around. In any case, the headband stretched over the helmet fine and that mounting system worked well too.

If you are just going for a ride at night, a good light is important. But if you going as fast as you can through the rocks and trees down the side of a mountain, a good light is absolutely critical. (and it is a major advantage!)

CREE T6 INTON hot rechargeable bike led lights

These ‘INTON NB-20001’ are sold on eBay for about £129 from a UK dealer.

They look nice, but very much over priced. I personally would think eventually should be at the £35 - £40 mark.

you will need translator for this one, but it is worth it ;)

On a bike you are limited in size, space, and weight.

I would think a lot of lumen are lost with mini reflectors. I would imagine there has to be a balance between emitter and the reflector size, shape and type. I suppose it is usable light output that counts.

I have got the same, bought at same site, same URL… but I can’t use it often because it interferes with my cyclecomputer :frowning:

At least the pulse-meter works OK.

Those INTON 2x XM-L lights look awesome. There's no chance you'll see them for under £50 ever I don't think but for around £60-75 they'd be a great buy. I can't wait for them to turn up on DX, KD or manafont!

Single XLM-T6 bike lights are going for £22 on eBay. So it is cheaper to double up and pay £44. So for INTON to be a practical seller they are going to have to match the price of 2 singles. So I wouldn't pay more than £50 when I can buy 2 singles for £40. But they do look good. I wonder how they would perform with a SMO reflector in one and an OP in the other. Best of both worlds maybe..

or you could bet one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/p/cree-t6-dual-xpe-r2-3-mode-1800-lumen-3-led-white-bike-light-w-battery-pack-105489

for under £50 just bought one of these and it's a great little light very nice flood and throw

the modes are great (for me anyway) none of those sos, strobe, epileptic fit enducing modes

the 3 modes are t6, xpe's, t6+xpe's

coupled with this rear light http://www.dealextreme.com/p/magicshine-mj-818-ha-iii-ssc-42180u-3w-3-mode-led-bike-tail-light-set-4-18650-included-42077

best rear light i have ever seen or owned

i have found this to be even better than my previous set up of this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/p7-water-resistant-ssc-p7-3-mode-1200-lumen-white-led-bike-light-with-battery-pack-set-82734 which i ran in conjuntion with a single mode p7 like this one http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-p7-f15-ssc-p7-wc-3-mode-900-lumen-led-flashlight-1-18650-19189

but the driver on the flashlight died on me and i think that after 1yr of use the p7 bike light has suffered for being driven so hard (always ran on high) at one point it got so hot the reflector suffered some damage (discoloured) and needed replacing

i did a review for those interested (might have put it in the wrond section) here https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/4965

I think it would be a very nice bike light if it would have XP-G R5 instead of XP-E R2. It looks very nice.

you could always swap them over maybe 10 min's work just get xpg in 10mm round mount

cutters have these for about £7

i have been toying with the idea of seperating the unit's keeping the main t6 on my bars and mounting the xpe's on my front forks that way i could adjust the beam angles seperatly

i had thought about placing them right at the bottom of the forks all i would need is some kind of mount for them and longer cables but this could be done i really like the size of them
