Nitecore TIP CRI color temperature?

This is how the spectrum of light looks like Nitecore TIP CRI:

For comparison Lumintop SDMini (6900K):

And Warsun CT9T T6 diode (11700K really cold light):

Are there any deals currently running of this light?

Andrew & Amanda ran a 50% off deal. Very good value.

I bought two TIP’s and one TIP CRI. The TIP’s are pretty amazing, very bright and convenient design. I can’t speak on the TIP CRI, because it came DOA. Charging status functions work and light did charge, but LED is totally dead. Won’t even show lockout indication. Having to return it and hopefully will get a working one in return. Very curious to see if the tint is as stated here. Box specs say 220 lumens for CRI version, versus 360 lumens. I’m hoping it’s a little bit brighter…

Just to follow up… I really like the beam tint of the TIP CRI. It does seem to be something like 5000K and 90+ CRI. Compared to many of my other lights that are supposedly “neutral white”, the TIP CRI makes them look a bit greenish or notably cooler.

I ended up encountering 2 issues:

  1. The fitment of the two halves (top/bottom) is not perfectly flush, and overhangs at the front. It creates an uncomfortable edge that is a bit sharp at the corners. I notified Nitecore about this, provided requested photos, and they thanked me for letting them know. That’s it.
  2. Something strange has happened 3 times now since I’ve been using my TIP CRI on the first charge. I put mine in lockout mode a lot, to prevent accidental activation. Every so often, right after coming out of lockout and going to high, the next button press shuts off the light… and no response. NOTHING. It behaves like it’s in lockout, but it’s not. And it won’t come back on, until I plug it in via a USB port.

Anyone else here run into these issues?

EDIT: Well, ironically enough, less than an hour after I posted this, my TIP CRI will not turn on any longer. Before this happened, the power level indication flashed 3 times, which means above 50%. So the battery certainly isn’t dead. Plugging in does show the red charging in progress indication… but no light, just like what I experienced with my first Nitecore TIP CRI — DOA.

I will only add my measurements of the CRI version:

Thanks. Not surprising, it’s a bit below specifications (240 lumens, 810 cd, 56 m distance).

How long have you owned it and has it always been functioning properly? No glitches? The worn anodizing looks rather nice…

I’ve had it for over a year. He is always with me and my keys. As you can see, it was a bit scratched, but it adds to its charm. There are no problems so far. I am very happy. The only small minus is the plastic clip that broke.

Thank you. I’m assuming from the lack of the proprietary clip that it’s a pre-2017 model. I guess they weren’t all defective.
