Dunno if we have a bare BLF driver that fits this, because the W1 is optimal at 4-5 amps, so it's higher than any 7135 based driver and too low for FET based drivers. So you need a good regulated driver in the 17 mm size that preferably can run the firmware of your choosing for a power switch light.

If we had this, I'd be very interested in getting a bunch. The problem would probably be real estate, unless maybe you can use both sides, say some low profile parts on the spring side.

Unless, of course, you are willing to run the W1 at lower amps, because at 2-3 amps, there should be 7135 based drivers, like this one: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/JEp3Wx4B, but it's ATTiny13A based.

I wish there would be a BLF version of the linear FET drivers that Simon sells. I still wonder if their components can be harvested, transplanted on a new pcb with an attiny whatever running a FOSS FW.

It should be possible to make an adapter board just like Gchart did for the SP10S. Looking quickly at the pictures there are :

An op-amp enable pin (led enable) , PWM pin for brightness, probably a battlevel pin (voltage divider), an OTC pin.
They would need to be rewired to the MCU on the adapter board.

That said there are a bunch of resistors and caps which Iā€™m not sure what thereā€™re for.

Led4power offers 17mm boards with customizable linear output. Unfortunately it is proprietary and only uses his firmware, but his firmware isnā€™t bad.

I would like to see basically all the basic BLF drivers (fet+AMC) redone in linear-fet (or linear-fet + direct drive fet) style. Bonus points for compatibility with the popular BLF firmwares (FSM for e-switch, bistro and such for clicky)

Iā€™d like to see Simon just work with ATTinysā€¦ But yeah, would love BLF versions. When I want to toss SST40, Luxeon V, or the white flat series in a light, Iā€™d love to be able to just have drivers ā€œin-stockā€ that I can build and throw whatever firmware on that suits the current whim.

Is the 17mm Texas Avenger driver still the best/latest driver to order for FET+AMC drivers?
Meant for several Convoy S2+ with 1) triple 219B and 2) XHP50.2 3V and maybe another C8 with Osram 1mm2.

And what is the latest firmware for the TA driver? there are so many new firmware releasesā€¦ hard to keep up. But thanks for all the hard work yā€™all putting into this. Quite impressive how much has happened in the time I wasnā€™t on here.

I recently ordered the TA driver in 17mm, I think it is still an up to date driver to be used in flashlights. Not sure which firmware to use, but the firmware repository will have all of them and the help section on there is really good.

Are the 7135 regulators at fasttech still good quality? The 100 pack is only $1.24 more than 50 pack :open_mouth:

I tried some stores on aliexpress for legit AMC7135 but they all canceled because they were out of stock and discontinued. Canā€™t build these drivers with 7135 raptor claws :rage: :rage:

I see why Lumintop just said %^$$ it and removed them altogether in FW3A.

ā€œRaptor clawā€ are MEL7135
You need only 1 of them on moon channel and all other N can be any brand.

Add RGB Aux and lower lows to your FWAA:
