The led is indeed the same. The mcpcb makes it a 6 or 12volt led.

Exactly that. How many years delay has there been on building the first stages of the ISS? The LHC suffered quite some delays too. The nuclear fusion research project ITER went back to the drawing board after several years and is still not running… The GT went quite well and if a final tuning is needed that’s part of the process. 
In the meantime, if someone wants to post some GT porn for the hundreds of us starving… i wont hit the rude spot button. :innocent:
There was something on the TV lately about NASA and all that spcae stuff. In building the spaceshuttle they had a delay of a year or more.
But when finished it was in business for many years.
So the GT might get delayed but it will be the king of throwers for quite some time.
…as the Q8 made many lights obsolete so the GT will.
Forgive me if that’s not correct english…

PS: we should start planning some GT nights where we make the moon fuller then it should be by all shinning our lights at a given UTC time and puzzle astronomers… :smiling_imp:

I have a question, but first I wanted to tell that:
I’m so grateful that a team of dedicated enthusiasts designed this light in such a short time. Taking into consideration the distance separating all the team players. When I first wanted to see what a thrower was like, I came lurking on BLF again I I finally got a Sniper M24 and was quite pleased with it, impressed in fact. A year after, I started longing for something more throwy, more powerful. Tn42 and friends were fitting the bill, yet I wasn’t sur that for the bill I was getting so much more. When I first heard about the GT, i though…… well let’s follow this a little closer, but the project was still in it’s infancy, more of a brainstorm then anything. So I proceeded with my life. In the last 3 months, I realized that I had to order if I didn’t want to find myself in the same situation that I found myself with the Q8 and A6 ( late on on the bandwagon).
When I got in I obviously fell in the second group. And when time came to order I naively felt the urgency to choose DHL as shipping, “no matter the consequences”, childishly hoping to receive it before christmas time or New years. I admit that it was solely to show it off to my stepbrother who is well versed in optics and would have adequately appreciated the light (though I doubt he is a flashlight enthusiasts per se).
TLDR:
How should I go about if I wished to try to switch the shipping method to Registred instead of DHL? Since Obviously it’s not coming in the next week anyways, I’d rather prefer the convenience and less chances of duties and fees of registred. Yet I would’nt want to engender delays for anybody else on th list by being disruptive to lumintop , enven for simply asking them, whicjh is the reason I first aseked here.

Yep… I agree!! A nice shapely boob or boob job wins everytime over a blob.
And they work as good…. if not better; than button tops.
I like big button tops. But I find I need to be careful when trying to get them to stand up. The least amount of resistance has been beneficial during transfer.

Boobs (and blobs) have been proven to work better then button tops.
Some button contraptions involve flimsy flat wires and not much else to carry the current. At best the stainless button is welded… Nothing like a good blob of tin right on the cell tip. :sunglasses:
