if anybody produces a beamshot that shows a well illuminated object, CLEARLY visible at 1 mile distance ( no Photoshop image like the advertising for the Lemax LX70 Superpower with lighthouse at 1800mtrs, they claim a throw of 2.64 miles for that light, sadly these professional beamshots can not convince me that the light can throw one mile as can NOT ANY OTHER BEAMSHOT of a hand held flaslight I have seen so far and I have seen a lot. We are not talking Tank lights here ! ) I will welcome it here and anywhere else too !
If they can not do that, as far as the Giga Thrower ( Thrower not toy or light saber ) is concerned, any beamshot at 5yards or even 500 yards is a waste of time, I have pocket torches that throw that far.
vob showed us that video is the way to go if you are looking for proof what a Thrower can do.
I think it was TA that stated that the warm light emitter beam is further visible than the cool white one, so no problem there either.
Its about time that vob gets plenty more of the well deserved credit for his amazing video.
Enough said, get out the video cameras all you actual customers !!!

There was a pic someone posted a while back of a concrete dock at the ocean about 1.2km far:
It’s not 1.6km (1 mile) but the GT isn’t going to be able to illuminate that far unless it is a white/reflective target, no ambient light, and low dust/humidity.
1.2km is about 1 lux, more of less the limit of what can be easily distinguished for a flashlight, the 0.25 lux (2km) ANSI standard is not really usable in the real world.
To get a good idea of the range of a flashlight it is much more effective to calculate the distance based on 1 rather than .25 lux.
If you want a usable distance of 2km+ you’re going to need to go with a short-arc searchlight like the maxabeam, or wait a few years for more flashlights to start using laser-phosphor light sources.
No worries ammofox. The payment PM should come sometime after Chinese New Year, around the end of the month or so.

More important for me would be, that both is declared separately, flashlight cost and shipping cost extra.
If there is only one amount e.g. 50$ DHL determines something for shipping cost.
50$ is under 50€ so you should be fine, no additional costs …

I think it’s sad enough to see everyone getting there tracking codes and you are not getting the GT. You know how it works at Lumintop. They just push out GT’s without any notice of place on the list etc. If you start the 3th batch, I bet they mix everything again and some of the first 555 still have to wait much longer. Nornally after CNY production starts again second week of March. So registered mail for some of the first group will arrive in April.
Yay the GT itself, not just the info, is in Australia about 1000km away, so three sorting depots to get through and its here, they say Friday but it will be more like middle of next week if past experience is anything to go by 
I cannot track it outside of Australia so cannot say when it was shipped even though it was sent by Austpost.

For Germany only 26€ complete (incl. shipping) are free, above you have to pay 19% import turnover tax for all, flashlight cost, shipping cost, handling fee…

Ammofox I have no idea why you decided to defend vob’s Video as though my old post was anything negative, it wasn’t. The issue was about some customers were complaining once that they learned that cool white emitter in the prototype vob used wasn’t the same as the 4000k emitter in the actual gt. Therefore beamshots using the actual gt would be more useful. If you think the only beamshots you need are vob’s video, by all means ignore all others to your hearts content. Maybe I miss read the tone of your post, if so, disregard my last sentence.
if shipping fee is not specified, they estimate the costs. So count on €40-50 extra. I asked Lumintop (Neal) to change the invoice to $15 for GT and $10 shipping. They don’t, so we pay.
I agree, thats why I plan to wait for the 3rd batch of PM’s until the existing orders are basically done.
That’s the best option in my eyes, i can wait 
A word about shipping order.
During the first shipment of lights Neal/Lumintop started at the front of the paid list and worked their way back until they filled a pallet with USA/no battery/DHL lights. Same for the second shipment except for usa/battery/dhl. So priority was given to those early on the paid list to a certain degree. It’s not perfect, but it’s something I noticed. After that I stopped trying to figure out what list orders got shipped. It was too much work.
Since the first 555 people paid a week before everyone else, they should have been in the front half of the paid list. It’s unfortunate that registered mail shipments and “high shipping cost” countries got sent last. Still, I’m glad they started at the front of the paid list and not some random order.
Texas_Ace, SB and Scott are working on some type of fair way to send out the last batch of PM’s for these last 650 lights.
