A new thought: are you considering a neutral white LED for your flashlight design? Neutral white is often popular among people in the know for the EDC-style flashlight your questions seem to imply.

But feeling like some questions were kinda steering towards a final light I MIGHT like for say camp, while a small carry around the house/farm would be a different light (for me)… so depends on the application. Still I’d like to see final results (especially for high setting timing… .4 Vs .5 seconds Vs… ?).

If the shortcut to high mode is to hold down the tail switch for a period of time, how long should it be?
