[Q] FL with easy control (for older people)

Funny you should mention that. I bought a DV-9 thinking it might be a good, simple light for my mother-in-law.

But since it’s a dive light, that tailcap requires way more strength and dexterity than I would be comfortable handing over to her. I haven’t removed any of the O-rings yet, so don’t know if that will make it any easier, but I suspect it will. The problem is, if it does loosen it up enough, I’ll have less of an excuse to keep it for myself.

Well, yah, I was going to suggest if any interest that with 3 O-rings, you’d probably want to take off at least 2 if you’re not going to be diving anywhere.

Should be those big fat clear ones, so shouldn’t rip or otherwise get destroyed sliding them off…

Thrunite Archer 2A fits the bill. Now Thrunite has 20% discount. ( Which is not fare, at all.)
Eagle Eye X5R also.

The Eagle Eye X5R looks nice, but it has two buttons…
I’m thinkind about the Eagle Eye X2R, because it can be easily moded to one mode…

BTW I found very hard to search for flashlights with USB charging, because most of the sellers doesn’t write it in the name :frowning:

This one also looks nice. It eat 18650,26650 or 3xAAA. It has also micro USB for charging and side button (I suppose that charging is only for li-ion).
Towild BC05
Or the Convoy BD06 which was already mentioned

How about a L shaped headlamp like Skilhunt H03?

easy to operate with one sideswitch

they have hands free
it has a magnetic base to stick on steel

I also modified the headband to be only the vertical one

Speaking of headlamps, then, how about the Boruit RJ-02?

Pull it out of the headband, and you can “palm” it, and it’s got a pretty easy side-switch to turn it on/off.

Output ramps up/down only when you press’n’hold, so you can set it for them and forget it.

Built-in usb charger, button lights red when charging, green when done.

9bux a pop, buy them a few.

Hi Benik3!

I saw the Convoy BD02 (AliExpress - Online Shopping for Popular Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Toys & Sports, Automobiles and More.) that seems to have most of the characteristics you mentioned.

Uses 18650, has in-built recharger, side switch, and has the “biscotti” firmware that you can configure to have different modes, with or without memory.

It is not a small light, but for older people it may be a good option.
Also, it seems to be a good price.

I must mention I don’t have one, so I cannot give a user opinion, I’ve just seen the characteristics of the light!

Hope it helps!! :+1:
Best regards!

+1 for the Convoy BD02/06.
I prefer side-switch for the targeted people and direct-charge.
Further, the driver can be programmed as desired and these models are available with various tints.

Btw, @Benik3
+1 for hard to indentify direct-recharge models !!

Hi.

Yeah the BD02 looks pretty useful.
The headlamp is nice, but I don’t want these 90° flashlights…
Sorry for late response, for some reason, I don’t get email notifications

BTW I just found, that there is 5 version of the Convoy BD
BD01 - 18650/26650 - similar to BD02 with 6x AMC
BD02 - 18650 - similar to BD01 with 6xAMC
BD03 - 18650 with tail switch, nice small EDC
BD04 - 18650 with tail switch. Size between BD02 and BD03, it use lens instead of reflector!
BD06 - 18650/26650 - smaller BD01 with 8xAMC
