Review: E1320 Modified UltraFire/UniqueFire UF-2100

You aren't the only one. Those UltraFire BRC's in the red wrapper are disliked by many. I had two from a long time ago and one began to have a strong smell and I threw it out. The other one has about half the run time of even my weakest 18650.

I think I didnt put enough info in for the batteries I was hating on. Its the trusfire flames 3000mah from Manafont

Ohhh . . . sorry, wrong battery.

I will add however, that I have a couple of 18350 flames just like those (1200mAh) and was surprised to discover they delivered the same run time as my 16340. (880 mAh) Guess I should have read up a little more before buying.

Mine is still strong after a lot of abuse …… Let’s do another group buy …. I’ll take 5 ……

I just got mine yesterday. The moonlight low is awesome, as is the brightest setting.
The switch itself is a little squirrely, you have to apply a bit longer press than normal to get it to change modes, but I can adapt to that.

Overall a great light in a small package!

Try double tapping to change modes. And a triple tap (or two too closely spaced double-tap mode changes) seems to send it back to dim.

Just for fun, I put the thermocouple sensor from the prototype of my battery/led/driver analyzer (Any interest in a LED/Battery analyzer device?) on the head of one of these flashlights/coffee warmers (with a fully charged Panasonic 2500 mAh battery) and switched it on high. Within one minute it was at 100F. After 10 minutes it was 143F. Temp peaked at 160F/70C at 72 minutes when the battery started being depleted.

One interesting thing was a short 3 degree F drop in temperature every time that I walked by it. A little moving air does wonders for cooling.

160F is pretty dang toasty. One thing about the great small size; no mass to wick away heat. Have to use turbo sparingly.

That thermocouple thing sounds interesting . . .

I put one of my E1320 UF2100’s on the prototype of my battery/power/led analyzer… very interesting: Any interest in a LED/Battery analyzer device?

I’d take one or two as well

3-8-13 update

Rereading this brings a smile . . . and great memories.

Eirk and I had pages of PMs during this project and he seriously underestimated the effort required to pull it off, determined as he was to maintain a certain quality and follow-thru. What I especially liked (still do) is how everybody conducted themselves. This group buy showcased perfectly, how BLF is different than any other forum on the web that I know of.

As for the light itself, my two have been fantastic. They are more than bright enough on high and you still have turbo when necessary. Neither of mine have failed in any way.

I miss projects like this. I miss Erik, too.
