Review: Manker MK34, 12 XP-G3, 3x18650 Floodlight

Taken from each manufacturer’s website:

Eagletac SX25L3
Length 144m
Width 47mm

Manker MK34
Length 98mm
Width 55mm

The Manker is smaller. It is slightly thicker, but MUCH shorter than the Eagletac

Yes it looks like. The black wire is soldered on the +.
They have learned!

No thermal regulation for this light.

The 2 plots are practically a match.

There is one beeing auctioned on ebay right now:

Another one went for USD 76:99 earlier today.

The NCR18650GA Flat Top works fine in my MK34!

I think i’m missing something….
If not , 6.5k lumens for 30 seconds is a steal . It seems like a stepdown…

there is a magnification of the turbo plot in the review.
The stepdown is temporized.

I expected better results from it

Anyway , thank you very much for your superb review .

30 seconds turbo feels a little short. Would’ve been nicer if it was at least 3 minutes for a light this size.

I agree.

The MK34 is only a little larger than a C8.

I’ve got a light that does 4800lm for 60 seconds, drops to 3600 and it is approaching danger temps within 3 minutes. It’s about twice as big and has better thermal management than the MK34. 6800lm is a ton of heat, especially for a small light.

I imagine for a 3 minute turbo timer the output would have to be halved. As it is, turbo is more like a burst mode restricted to 15-20 seconds.

Perhaps next iteration might have an additional mode group that allows for a more usable, lower turbo mode?

Still a neat light though. I wouldn’t say no to someone sending me one as a gift, along side a Meteor.

hahaha… i hope someone will send u tn36 for comparison, because tn36 also has a flood light, it would nice if $129 dollar flashlight can beat the tn36.
cant wait for the video review

Thank you for taking the time to make this review. Well done!

Video is uploading.
Skip to 8.27 to see the light briefly in action.

Awesome. The light looks really good. Thanks a lot for working hard on the video to upload it on a Saturday night
Me, I just came back from a midnight walk in the forest with the Noctigon M43 (Nichia 219C 5000K) and Lumintop SD75

hikari u should send your m43 to budda, so he can make a comparison video :stuck_out_tongue:

I used for the first time the electronic lockout and the engeneering mode. I like them. I find the engeneering mode useful.

Stephen88:

I don’t believe there should be great differences from the videos. The major differences will be the size, levels and UI.
Also consider that the M43 is available in a lot of different tints and anodized colors. But it is also more expensive, and I dont know about its regulation.

you have to be quick to convince someone give or found me a M43… soon I’ll open my MK34 and put in some XP-G2 HICRI 3000-3500K.
5000K “pains my eyes”
when I turned the MK34 on turbo mode at the wall at 20 cm from me I had to sit down for a while to recover from all that cool white.

I could, but I will be crying like a baby since I don’t have my little darling next to me when I go to bed….So…sorry, but no
But definitely these two lights should be compared next to each other; not just for specs but for real life use…. Manker MK34, a brother from a different mother…

why not return it and order the nichia version? yeah i saw on the video it more likely a little blue, maybe 6500-7000k…
please make a mod video if u want to change the led, it would be nice to watch… which one is brighter between XP-G2 or XP-L v6 ?
manker just send my order 2 days ago…, i hope it arrive in the next 2 week…

Thanks for the review… i did not know about this light.

It’s sort of a triple E14/S41… in a SRK form factor, sort of. It looks great and i like it.

However, it seems the maximun sustained output level is around 2K lumens rather then 8k? If so i’m not impressed… i can get the same with a single XHP50 or a pair of BLF A6 taped together, at a fraction of the price. Even one of those recent SRK/Latticebright clones can compete.

The battery length issue is just another unwanted annoyance for a not so budget friendly light.

However, this host may not be able to sustain such output in the first place?

Maybe so, BUT it won’t give you high CRI.
Unless you are prepared to spend more money on a Noctigon M43 Meteor.
