The tint looks the same as most budget lights, which is cool white. Others have said theirs is more neutral. It's not cold white, but it has no vanilla or yellow to it either.
Put a xpg2 nw emitter in it and a 50 cent olight clip from illumination supply garage sale on it and this original bLF light still has some flaws .but the output on a 14500 is much brighter and the tint is sweet as hell .....much much better light now .
i saw it on lightakes website in the clearance section around christmas last year for 7.95$ and am now kicking myself for not buying another one.

I have a couple..but that was a silver one instead of the black ones . i pulled one from my broken light box this year and fixed it along with a few lights i'd had in a drawer for years ..just proves after 5 years you do learn something even if you're not really paying attention .
