ReyLight Pineapple mini (copper) AAA/10440 flashlight (OP Updated)

Pre-flash is highly noticeable using 10440’s with mine.

thanks for this info.

I’m on the fence about the pre-flash. It is noticeable but fortunately it’s very brief and in a way it actually kinda lets me know I’ve switched the light on since moonlight is so low.

I have a DQG Tiny AAA that noticeably pre-flashes in all modes, really bad.

I like it for moonlight mode too just like you said it’s benefit was, but for other modes, it’s not helpful. I bought a full-size pineapple instead of another of the mini.

is the inventory currently on Amazon the fixed one or first version?

Well mine was bought last week and flashes.

The inventory is 1st version.

In- if still available

Available. PM coming.

This I have noticed. But, today I accidentally discovered that I can trigger the switch by pressing down on the lens with my fingernail. If I back out to just where the head can no longer be manipulated to activate the light, pressing down on the lens still triggers until I untwist just a little more.

Does anyone else’s light behave like this? I did recently use acetone to remove the coating from the copper so maybe the oring at the lens was compromised.

I had not realized the pineapple was coated

my other Lumintop Copper AAA lights are not coated so I have not used acetone on them. Mine don’t turn on when I press on the glass

The head and body are threaded together, and the threads aren’t perfect so there is a little bit of play. On top of this, the pill is threaded inside the head, and again the threads aren’t perfect so there is a tiny bit of play there as well. What I think is happening is this: if you press down on the lens, you are effectively pressing on the pill, and then you get the play from both sets of threads. I imagine there must be only a very narrow range where the behavior you describe occurs.

Well, shucks. I feel stupid for not considering this. I tightened the pill and all is well. Thank you!

Happy to help!

Just received my very defective pinneaple.

Fit well eneloops, but don’t fit alkalines batterys, the tube diameter is too small.

Besides that, the spring in the end of the tube is too wide, not allowing the battery to enter and the light does not twist.

I bought this light for a gift, so the rejection of some alkalines is a problem.

Sorry to hear, what alkaline did you use? diameter?

Did the pill back out of the head? Check and see if the pill is screwed in all the way. Eneloops, Energizer alkaline, Energizer ultimate lithium, Duracell alkaline, and both Energizer & Duracell NiMH all fit mine. Efest 10440 is what I normally use in it.

Yes, I unscrew and screw the pill, it cames well screwed.

I deformed the tube spring to make it fit better and this is no longer a problem. But the tube diameter is too narrow for some alkaline batteries. Finally the light is in function and the nichia tint is excellent, but not all alkalines fit into the tube…

Mine just arrived. First impressions: This is a really, really cool little light. The tint and output on a AAA cell are great. The “memory” only seems to be around 5 minutes, which is about perfect for my use. Yes, it’s heavy, but I don’t mind. The only minor complaint I have is that my emitter seems to be off-centered, but it’s nothing that can’t be easily fixed.

Will you post when v.2 is available on Amazon please?
