I've solder blob'd a bunch of 26650 flat tops, mostly LK's. Works great, and typically you only need one with a solder blob for a 2 cell lights. I've been running my L6's this way. Also the solder is lower resistance than typical button tops, though the quality of button tops vary greatly.

I’m unable to order bare batteries from Sofirn (no shipping method for bare batteries), so I ordered the SP33 with 26650 “bundle kit” instead at 2 different occasions to get hold of the Sofirn 26650 battery.
I notice that the 2 26650s have similar wrapping, but have slight difference physically. I wonder if one of them might be the so-called “high-drain” type.
I have yet to do a capacity test of the 2 batteries. But using YR1030 resistance tester. The more protruded 26650 (has smaller vent-holes, bottom is not completely flat) measured 41.7mOhms (AC IR) at 3.90v whereas the flatter 26650 (completely flat bottom) measures AC IR of 13.7mOhms at 3.90v.
One weighs 92.5grams while the other weighs 93.0grams (basically very similar weight, might even just be sample variance)
I suppose the 13.7mOhms version is the high-drain type?
I doubt it. The HD batteries have a button top added on and have not started shipping yet. They are also rated at 5000mah.
Do you have a clamp style ammeter to measure them in a FET style light?
As far as I know, Sofirn uses different generic batteries in 26650. Some measure closer to 5500mah and are labeled as such. Others measure closer to 5000mah and are labeled as such.
