Received a code last night from Sofirn. I will not be using it, as I just got a Q8 off the buy/sale forum here on BLF. Thank you anyways Sofirn. Feel free to pass my code along to someone else.
Umm…. if that’s what you think they pay for those components…. You need to re-evaluate your numbers.
There is NO WAY they pay NEAR those amounts for said components in an industrial/commercial quantity.
Why would you assume he’s talking about the manufacturers cost?
He’s refering to the retail costs, the price you and I would pay since that is what is relevant to us.
um… why would he be posting those numbers to us in the 1st place? are YOU gonna build any of these by hand? even if supplied the components?
I AM, even IF i need to source my own components.
I simply had to do the math on this light personally for me to buy it . I know that even a decent tube light host is usually about $10 and figured there was no way I could get a Q8 host with what I consider nicer looking knurling or anything close to that kind of money .
I said it to convince people on the fence to grab one of these lights . The driver alone is worth the price of the light .
If I just wanted the better knurling and the bottom part what do you think the cost would be ?.$10+.
I wouldn't ship half a light half way across the globe for less than 10$
You're right I shouldn't be thinking out loud on the forum or worrying about what other people do or don't do .
I'd told Djozz that I had plans in the works just a few weeks ago to see if we could simply do a reboot of the original Q8. I was surprised to see that someone else had the same idea...Brilliant minds think alike :)
And as far as your “thinking out loud” Boaz, no need to apologize…… I like the way you think. :+1:
Personally, what I find somewhat comical; are the ’announcements’ by some that because they have/had not yet received their Code they are no longer interested in the light.
I guess they might not realize it takes a while to send individual codes to each person.
when you try and select more then one on AZUS it “alerts” and says “due to limited supply by seller, limit one light per perchance” but you can buy as many as you want, just one at a time, and once you use a code, ANY code, you can not use a code again for that listing.
